Hi there- I'm sorry to hear you didn't get what you were hoping for from the procedure- especially since it sounds like you were so happy with the initial outcome! As you did not provide any personal information about yourself, it is not possible for me to identify you or to help you understand what may have been the cause of an initially excellent outcome declining with time. It is a shame you didn't come in to discuss the matter with us directly- we want all of our patients to be happy and do everything we reasonably can to safely accomplish that goal. Scar quality can often be improved significantly through appropriate use of multiple treatment modalities, but specific recommendations would depend on the details of the scar. I would invite you to come in to see us for an evaluation of the scar and appropriate recommendations. Finally, I would like to address your statement that you are "looking for a diff doc". Generally speaking, in the vast majority of cases, it is in the patient's best interests in a situation like you describe to maintain open communication and a positive relationship with their Board Certified Plastic Surgeon- so that concerns can be addressed by the surgeon who knows you and the details of the surgery you had the best. Most often, this will result in the best outcome In the shortest time and the least expense. Obviously we understand if you prefer to go elsewhere, but would emphasize that we would always appreciate the opportunity to make a patient happy and restore their confidence in us.
