WORTH IT
For anyone struggling with under eye skin syringomas, this is your solution. I have very sensitive skin and have been battling with little bumps under my eyes for years, I've tried switching skin care line, microdermabrasion, retinA; none with good results. When I found out that Dr. Mao has syringoma removal procedure with electrocautery I was ecstatic!!! Basically this procedure is burning off the tiny raised bumps on skin just below the eyes. I was scared about the potential pain since the under eye skin is super tender and sensitive, but you get local anesthetic injection before the actual procedure. I did not feel a thing! No pain, other than minor injection pain before the actual procedure, but that's minimal. As far as results, I can see that all the raised bumps are all burned off and I see tiny marks the electrocautery left but no longer raised. I can already tell that it's gonna look good like I never had syringomas before once it's fully healed. I cannot wait!!! I can tell Dr. Mao has very good techinique because I see that only the raised bumps are treated off, the good part of my skin is not affected and left untouched. I highly recommend this procedure for stubborn syringoma removal and Dr. Mao does a very careful, meticulous job which is what you need to minimize risk for scarring.

Glad I came across this review. I have an appointment with Dr Mao tomorrow for a consultation re: bleph & canthoplasty. I have lots of syringomas under my eyes and I'm thrilled he can remove them

Just so you know, I had two procedures for syringomas so far 3 months apart and now they're pretty much all gone by 6 months. If you have a lot of syringomas you may need more than two treatments. Good luck at your appointment!

I saw Dr Mao today and will be having surgery next week....upper/lower bleph, canthoplexy and Fraxel laser of the face. The syringomas will be cauterized approx 2 months post op.

That makes sense to wait to do cautery after surgery. Good luck with everything!

Thanks for providing this info, can you please share your results after? What will be the specific treatment for syringoma? I'm struggling with syringoma underneath the eye and was wondering how treatment, and recovery work out. Also is he affordable?

Will the electrocautery leave a mark on your skin or it will disappear over time? What did dr. Mao say about this? Will it be like a dark spot? can you do laser after to get rid of any mark? Thank you.
So glad you found a way to treat the stubborn syringoma! It sounds like you have tried every possible treatment available. Please keep us posted as you continue to heal. If you're comfortable, we would love to see any pictures. Congratulations!
