Facelift with Dr. Mao

After doing a lot of research, and meeting with 4 surgeons regarding my sagging jowls, I decided to have a facelift with Dr. Mao. The procedure took place in his office with local anesthesia. I went home on the day of surgery, and returned the following day to have the drains removed. One week later, the stitches were removed. I never had any pain, and never needed to take any of the pain medicine that had been prescribed. I only took tylenol. I did not need a nurse to accompany me home, as the drains were state of the art and wrapped in part of the head dressing/bandages, which were removed after one day. I wore a compression head garment for two weeks after the surgery to help keep the swelling down. Everything worked exactly as he had explained it. My only surprise was the length of time it takes to get the feeling back in areas impacted by the surgery. Apparently, this is normal.
