Kybella - Not worth it

ocmama
$2,000
My opinion Kybella is a complete waste of money. I'm now going to save for Chin Lipo.

IMHO (I am a nurse) you need under-chin lipo AND a neck lift. The loose skin won't disappear w/o that.
April 23, 2017
I don't have loose skin. It does not wiggle.
April 28, 2017
I think the nurse was suggesting a lift because there could be loose skin AFTER the lipo.
April 28, 2017
Thanks, alli. That is what I meant.
April 30, 2017
I agree. I've had chin lipo and know what to look for now. Kybella is not for everyone and needs to stop being marketed that way. She should've have chin lipo first.

Gosh! I guess that, as a an RN, I feel validated about what I know. But, on the other hand, I think 'ocmama' also needs to feel validated. OCMAMA: hope you are finding answers to your questions. You are ALREADY beautiful! May every cosmetic thing you do bring that home to you. XO, & Happiness for ALL of US.

I am $1500 in and very disappointed. I trusted my doctor and have been going to him for many years for botox and fillers. I think he misled me with the Kybella. I am out of money and have no more recourse expect live with this disappointment.
May 6, 2017
I know. I hear you. I am saving for lunch time chin lipo or Platysmaplasty or both.
May 6, 2017
That's what I should do as well. Sigh...

I can't do anything more right now because I have my daughter's wedding in a month. That's the reason I tried Kybella in the first place, because I did not want to have a double chin for the pictures. Too bad there isn't a complaint page for Allergan!

Contact the makers of Kybella and file a claim that you are disappointed and want your money back or free treatment. The proof is in the pictures. My doctor is giving me a free treatment in August because I have not seen results after spending $2000.00. I'm pretty pissed.

Honestly, I do see improvement in your 6 week post 2nd vial photo. To me it looks like the chin or jaw definition has expanded to reach the part of your jaw that's directly under the outer corner of your eye- in the before picture your defined jaw area is more around the chin, below the mouth. It's my understanding that some people need three treatments. Maybe reconsider a third if they can discount the price because you're currently unsatisfied . I'd also let your provider know you post reviews, they'll be more inclined to keep you happy:) Please keep us posted! I'm scheduled for mid-may!

Now it has been 5 months since my second treatment of Kybella. The first treatment was on Dec. 29, 2016 and the second treatment was on Feb. 9, 2016 - both treatments were 2 vials each and 4 1/2 syringes and numerous injections. $2000.00. Still no improvement. My doctor is going to give me a free treatment in August. I had to wait until then because summer time I have to much going on to have that bull frog thing. Very disappointing to say the least. Lots of money for people to spend and not get any results.

For me, it was a very painful experience. I do see a difference, but does that suffering worth it ? Do do not be able to feel my chin was a very anxiety-provoking experience...And the worst thing of all, the doctor touched a nerve that made my face burn during almost two week ! My cheeks were red and hot, I could feel a burning sensation through my face that almost put me in a panic state for several days....A total nightmare. I thought I was reacting to the product, I really couldn't figure out what was going on...When I called the clinic, they told me that everything was in my head ! Now I'm fine, but my chin is still sensitive and the numbness is not totally gone (I got my fisrt injection three weeks ago).

I understand how you feel Belkirat. I truly felt the same way. I feel certain you will feel better, it just takes a LOT longer than they say...

14 weeks after 1st Kybella and 8 weeks after 2nd Kybella treatment - Both 2 vials each

ocmama
Not very satisfied but would like true opinions from people I don't know. I would like to mention that the Kybella Treatments (pic is 14 weeks after 1st and 8 weeks after 2nd both with two vials each @ $1000 each treatment, before these I had Cool Sculpting done 2 x's at $700 each and so I am in this for $3400.00 total and I'm pretty sure I could have had chin lipo done for this amount and be done with it already. So it is a bit depressing.

I've seen very few positive comments regarding this procedure. That is why it is a must to peruse this site thoroughly when contemplating any procedure . Kybella, coolsculpting, thermatight and infinity treatments all have very negative reviews. Sorry you wasted your money.
April 10, 2017
Yes, I found this site after Kybella.
April 10, 2017
I think you are still a bit swollen. Now that I constantly check this website, I am starting to see Doctors on Real Self admit that Kybella can take almost 3 months for the swelling to go away. Give it another month. I do see a good improvement in your before and after pictures.
April 11, 2017
It's been 14 weeks since my first set of injections and 8 weeks after the second set of injections. I don't feel swollen or even any hard spots anymore. I just think it didn't work. I am going in for a consultation with the doctor who injected and see what she thinks. It was a lot of money and a lot to go through for nothing. :(
April 11, 2017
I'm so sorry. I have been extremely unhappy about my journey with Kybella as well. Huge waste of time and money.
April 10, 2017
I am 57 and have had 3 Kybella treatments. The first 2 didn't do much at all and the 3rd one actually made me look worse. I now have fat just down the center of my chin and neck and it has made my skin saggy looking. What a waste of time and money! Sorry you are going through this too.
April 10, 2017
Oh no. That is terrible. Kybella is expensive and the swelling is not a fun experience. How long ago did you finish your third round?

I made an appointment for Kybella and cancelled after reading the reviews here on RS. Although some people get results after 2 or 3 tx, that's quite an investment for a "maybe"
April 22, 2017
I'm sorry but I didn't notice any improvement ever. I would be upset as well. I'm considering this and I would expect better results for that kind of money

2nd Kybella Treatment done today $1000.00

ocmama
I had my 2nd treatment of Kybella today. Two vials = 4 1/2 syringes. I'm not going to post pics because we have all seen the swelling and little bruises afterward on this site. It seemed easier than the first time but honestly the first time was no big deal. My doctor told me what to expect and that is what happened. I have swelling and a few tiny bruises just like before. I apply ice, use arnica gel and wrapping with ace bandage for a few days only while I'm home. Otherwise I use a scarf. I really do hope my little fat pad goes away. So far I'm in this for $2000.00. It will be 100% worth it if it works, otherwise I'll be sad knowing what I could have used that money on Coach, Kate Spade handbag or something awesome. :) Now to wait 6 or 8 weeks. I'll post a pic then.

Hope you get good results! I've been thinking about this, so please do let us know how it turns out.
March 2, 2017
Hi! Can we see your after pics from the 2nd treatment please?
March 4, 2017
I can see the difference in the 6 week after treatment. My neck was similar to yours and I just completed my second injection. I'm satisfied with the results but I wish I would have just spent my money on the neck lift. I have sagging skin now so I've decided to get the FL And Nl. The 2 kybella treatments I received were $2400 total. I would definitely recommend the tmt for someone under 40.
March 6, 2017
I see quite a difference in the pics you posted!! Looks like it's working!!
July 13, 2017
I don't think you should do anymore of those type of treatments. Try something else if possible. Take care and thank you so much for your honesty and sharing your results
