Hey guys. 35 years old. Always hated my chin. Never considered any procedures till this one popped up. Hereditary chin won't let me have the one I want. Defined and somewhat chiseled. I know it's not really a huge deal but I figure if I can get the procedure to be what I always hoped it would look like It would be a nice gift for myself. I know it's a very vain thing. 1st world problems haha. I would appreciate the feedback

Nothing wrong with a little vanity. You have a nice profile and reducing the sub-mental (chin) fat might work really well to give you the definition you want. But be prepared for mega swelling. I had it Friday and still look like a bullfrog on Monday. BTW, your chin looks fine before the procedure too.

Personally I think you already look great, but if it is something that really bothers you then Kybella might be a good option since you wouldn't need much fat removed.  Check out our Find A Doctor feature to see if any docs offer it in your area.  Whatever you decide to do keep us posted!

I know exactly how you feel. I don't have very good pics up, but under your chin looks a lot like mine and I too have always hated it but it was never enough to have surgery over.

I think all the swelling from my first treatment is gone, this four weeks out. I'll be going in for round number 2 soon.

It was a package for 3K: including three rounds of Kybella injections and three radiofrequency treatments to help firm up the neck. The RF treatments I'm just "eh" about, but it was about the expected price for three treatments and it couldn't hurt.

Oh so you did more than Kybella... what was the entire package, Kybella / RF and what else?
October 19, 2015
Just the two treatments, three rounds of each. (Injections, wait a month, RF treatment, wait a little bit, more injections, etc) I don't really think the RF has much to offer -- especially at our age. It's more for sag than anything, and the results are so-so at that from what I can find.

Was your 1,500 for one treatment or a series?

Honestly Danny, it doesn't look bad...but if it will help you feel better I say go for it. Do you have an OC doctor in mind? Having said this, I've put off doing any kind of 'upkeep' and wish I had more courage to do what others are doing. Veronica said she just had it done, so I will see if she's going to post some pics. I am scared about the 'bullfrog' swelling that happens with Kybella because once you are over a certain age, that will stretch the skin even more. The fat may be gone but I don't want to trade it for even more loose skin. So, for me, I will likely end up doing lipo with the hope that my skin will tighten a bit, though I understand that will cause swelling too but not as much as the Kybella procedure.

Thanks for the feedback. The swelling does eventually go back down tho right? It seems like others are seeing that after the treatment they retain a much more defined jawline

I'm no doctor, but I think the swelling is too little and too temporary to permanently affect the skin's elasticity.

Also, remember: you can use your beard to camouflage the swelling very well. After the first couple days, I didn't feel weird going out at all. If anything the first couple days, it was kinda funny to look at myself in the mirror, like I had fat suit makeup on for a movie ;-)

Yes, it does go back down and since you are young your skin will probably be OK but I've seen and heard others who end up with loose skin. The fat is gone and the swelling goes away but then the skin which is different for everyone, might be stretched out a little

Did you end up having it done? I don't think you chin looks bad at all. Kybella may help your your jawline look a little more pronounced. You would probably only need one treatment because you have so little fat. I say go for it! However...it does look worse before it looks better so don't let that discourage you. If this is something that bothers you every time you look into the mirror...I say it's worth it.
