Rhinoplasty Hump Removal/ Tip Refinement

I've been wanting a rhinoplasty for the past 15 years.I felt like my nose was too big from the side view and bulbous from the front. It also had a bump on in. I saw two other doctors previously to Dr. bruneteau. I went in for a free consultation and before I said anything to him about my nose, he was able to describe all the things I didn't like about my nose to me. He has a good eye for what a good nose should look like. I went ahead and decided to go with him for my rhinoplasty. I actually JUST had it done today. So I will post some before photos and do my best to update with after photos. I was terrified of having a "pinched" looking tip or obvious rhinoplasty look to my nose. I really am hoping for a natural result. From what I could see when changing the drip pad....it didn't look pinched. I can tell the tip was also taken in. But it's really hard to tell....it's swollen and all taped up. But from what I could see, I do think it'll turn out good!
Recovery does suck. Honestly this is pretty bad, but only due to the reason that I can only breathe through my mouth. It's really hard to eat and my throats and mouth get extremely dry! ( Biotene gel is saving me) The pain is minimal, it honestly wouldn't be bad at all if it wasn't for the clogged nose. I want to blow my nose so badly but I know that I can't!

There isn't much pain, but just extreme discomfort. I had packing taken out today and I can barely blow any air out of my nose. The mouth breathing is pretty awful. And my face has swelled even more. I'm just trying to take this one day at a time! It's extremely difficult.

Thanks for the update! I hope breathing through your nose gets easier soon.

I am one week post op for the same exact thing, bump on the bridge and too bulbous. I can tell you to just hang in there it literally gets better day by day after about day 3 post op. The swelling goes down, the bruising goes away and the breathing comes back. I had my one week follow up and they remove the cover it’s so awesome to see and then it got replaced with another smaller one to keep it safe but what a difference one week makes!

Day 2

I went in today at 8 am to get the packing removed. My surgeon said one patient described it as having their brains pulled out. And I completely agree with that statement! It didn't do much for my airway though. I'm still super blocked and am hoping this swelling goes down in the Next few days. I feel like my face has swelled up even more tonight. I'm having an extremely hard time getting any sleep or naps in. I'm literally eating biotene (yuck) lol my throat and mouth are ALWAYS dry. I'm trying to take this one day at a time. But all this swelling is driving me nuts! I've also been icing, hoping that will help. From what I can see, The tip does look smaller. And no pig nose! SCORE! ( I kept fearing I'd get a pig nose for some reason) I know it's too early to tell but I do think I'll be happy with my results! Fingers crossed!

Day 3

I was finally able to get more than 3 hours of sleep. I woke up several times throughout the night but was able to actually get some rest...which has made day 3 much less miserable than the others. I still can't breathe through my nose but I am able to blow a little air out of my nostrils. The swelling and bruising has also Improved a little. No pain in my nose but when I stop taking the hydrocodene I start to get a pretty bad headache, so I'm still taking a pill every 6 hours or so. I plan on slowly trying to extend the time before I take another one. Hopefully I'll be able to go without them soon.

I did call Dr. bruneteau yesterday (late at night) with a question and I was really pleased at how quickly he got back to me! He set my mind at ease and I felt better after talking to him. So far things seem to be going as they should. Can't wait until I can get this cast off to see how it looks!
