I am a person who has always struggled with weight since my teenage years. The year I turned forty something clicked and I began my journey to lose weight. I was 350 lbs. and have lost 170+ lbs. I have been at my current weight for 1 1/2 years. I knew I looked better, I was healthier but all I saw was the skin on my stomach. Everyone would tell me that you couldn't tell but I COULD. I struggled with the idea of a tummy tuck for months. I thought maybe it was vain, maybe it was ridiculous. I was wrong. I met with Dr. Bruneteau and his staff. I instantly like him. I was told that as long as the tummy tuck made me feel better and could see myself the way others did that is what mattered.
I work in the health insurance industry and know specific drill questions to ask. Every questions I asked Dr. Bruneteau and his staff was answered. I knew the cost of the procedure, the possibility insurance would not cover it and all the possible concerns with this procedure.
I decided to move forward and had a tummy tuck and breast lift on 6/2/2014. It was the best thing I did. I was told that 4 lbs. of skin was removed from my stomach. It is amazing to see the difference. Dr. Bruneteau and his staff were available before surgery but after surgery they were still there. They are all very personable yet professional. Calls are returned the same day and if there is a problem after surgery or a concern you can been seen almost immediately.
It has been almost 5 months since surgery and I have been back to my regular workout regiment. I will be honest it is a process. Every person heals differently and at their own pace. There is discomfort but the reward is so much more. The biggest key is to have patience ( I am not very good at this). I would recommend losing the weight first and then the tummy tuck. I believe that once you have the frame of mind of healthy eating habits with working out your success is guaranteed.
If there was a do over on this procedure I would have no second thoughts and Dr. Bruneteau and his staff would be my choice.
