Chemo and radiation did a number on my face and neck. I guess all the stuff that cured the cancer also made my face go south!!! I am happily going to be going under the knife next week for a facelift and eyebrow lift. After much research, review reading, and phone conversations with doctors, I chose a surgeon. Right now, I'm getting basics of what I'll be needing for recovery, etc. I'm nervous but excited! I've been under the knife before but not for something that I actually WANT to have happen!!! Pics to come and I do plan on posting my progress with pics and lots and lots of words!!

You look stunning, beautiful, I to have had a brush with breast cancer, even hard to write this down. After so much soul searching I have booked mid face and neck lift for 2 Oct, I can hardly believe it's really happening. Can you please tell me how the brows were lifted and how was your recovery. I am a decade onward so a little concerned about recovery of brow. I am so very happy for you.

Thank you, migisiy! Yes, that chemo and radiation and surgery/reconstruction can take a big toll, as well as the emotional aspect of it all. Life changing. I had an endoscopic forehead lift and facelift. I will say that the facelift recovery was easier and quicker than the forehead. 2 months out and my under eyes are still a bit swollen and I can still see a tiny shadow of bruising but, as you can see in the pics, they were pretty dang purple and huge. I could see results immediately but still...the bruising and swelling just require time to heal. As for pain, only really the first couple of days did I need any type of medication and then the rest was basically that weird TIGHT feeling under my chin and of course, the stitches were uncomfortable. My head feel like a coconut! That feeling is mostly gone but it took awhile for the nerves to regenerate on the top of my head. You will be so glad you did it! I really am. It's not perfect but it's sure an improvement. I will post some new pics later on today! Best wishes for your upcoming procedures!!! ps....make sure that you clear your calendar of public stuff for at least 2 weeks ( or wear good, large sunglasses!!!)!!

My daughter and I will be leaving for Omaha tomorrow; my appointment is on Thursday, June 29. I am nervous about the recovery as I will have to return to my town after I see the doc the day after surgery. A 3-hour drive but, actually, my biggest concern is knowing how to use the restroom at a gas station like a Ninja (I don't want to scare anyone with my face). I've been looking at my reflection....this face has been through a lot of hell the past 5 years. I'm thanking God that I get to do this!!! I'll post "before" pics the night-before-surgery.

I was actually waiting in the ER in these pics. My husband got hit in the face with a baseball! He's the one who needs the cosmetic surgery now!!! He's actually fine but looked way worse than fine. I look at these 2 bad pics and it helps me understand why I decided to do this procedure. I have a 12 year old son and a 20 year old daughter. I'm a late bloomer. I don't want to be called their "nana". I am nervous and excited. I am praying for good results for what my daughter calls my 'fun surgery'. Ha! Let's hope so!
