Over the last few months I had really changed my eating habits and had managed to lose 30 pounds, which was great news. What was bothering me was that my chest was still the same size. As I picked up my exercising I also noticed my back pain occurred more frequently and stuck around longer than I was used to. I decided to get a consult about possibly getting a breast reduction surgery. Dr. Bruneteau was very helpful and during our consult he listed reasons other people were getting the same procedure done - they were identical to my reasons! I thought it would take 6-8 weeks for insurance to process, as is usually the case, but my insurance company actually came back a few days later with the approve. I just had to cover my deductible and I was set.
The procedure was easy. I showed up an hour prior and they walked me through what was going to happen. I didnt even make it out of the room before falling asleep from the anesthesia and woke up a few hours later with smaller breasts and feeling a little sore. Recovery has been going well for me so far - its really important the first few weeks to not lift anything or reach above your head. I tried once or twice and was quickly reminded why I shouldnt do that, it really hurt afterwards. Other than that, Im healing up nicely and the stitches have all been removed. My next step is to minimize the scars, which should be easy.
Overall I would highly recommend this procedure, especially if you are as active as I am. I have already noticed a difference in reduced back pain and my shoulders dont have the dreaded indentations from trying to hold up all that weight! I also get to shop for cuter bras and overall my demeaner has changed for the better - I am a lot happier and more carefree.

Dr. Bruneteau was great - he walked me through everything and his team of nurses and physician assistants really made sure my questions were answered and I was ready for the surgery.
