So, I had been talking about, dreaming about and...
So, I had been talking about, dreaming about and joking about getting a breast augmentation pretty much since i knew in high school that my boobs weren't really going to amount to much. Haha. I would fleetingly research how much it would be or wish i could get it done. I'm now 32 years old after 2 amazing babies, who are now 10 and 13. Crazy how times flies! I started to work a new job, where a few of the women had gotten a breast augmentation, of course I would ask a million questions about how the process was done, who they went to, how much it cost. So, I decided to schedule a consult with Dr. Finkle in Omaha. The consult was so much fun and my nurse had the perfect personality for it. I was able to try ask questions, see before and after pics, try on different sized sizers and take A LOT of pics of what my future boobs would look like. They also listened to what my expectations were and helped me meet my expectations. I left the consult feeling very confident that I would go through with the surgery. I did not feel that I needed to consult with any more plastic surgeons since 3 of my friends had gone to Dr. Finkle and I had seen their excellent outcomes. Also, i felt that he would take great care of me. Now, I have always had a bubble butt and a 32A bust, so I very much wanted my body to be balanced. This had always made me feel self conscience when looking at women with an hour glass shape. Oh our inner demons huh lol. I did return back to Dr. Finkle's office once more before my surgery date with a pile of clothes to try on with the sizers. This must be a usual thing, because they welcomed me warmly and I did decide on a size that day, which was 450cc Silicone moderate plus profile implants. The day of my surgery, my biggest fear was getting an IV. I have terrible veins and have always struggled with blood draws and IV's. Also, did I mention that this would be my very first surgery! Dr. Finkle and his staff took this seriously since they were unsure how i would react to the anesthesia. Awesome patient care. My pre-op nurse was sweet and very gentle. She got my IV on the first try! I was very grateful to say the least. Before I knew it was heading to the OR and out before I knew it. I woke in recovery and Dr. Finkle at my bedside asking me how i was feeling. My post-op nurse was amazing as well. Did I mention that every staff member that I came in contact with during my experience was nothing but well informed, warm, friendly, positive and genuine. The next morning I received a call from Dr. Finkle asking how I was feeling. I like that as a patient for sure, nice touch. On the 2nd day I received a call again from a nurse, asking how i was recovering. Overall I felt very taken care of from the beginning to the end of my experience. Pain; I mean day 1 and 2 were the worst, you pretty can't move your upper body. But a good support system can make life a lot easier through that first week. The only thing I don't think I really prepared myself for was how long it would take for your breasts to look the way that you expected. Muscle need to stretch, swelling needs to go down, the implants need to drop into place. But, totally worth the wait! My results met my expectations, there are days that I wish I would have gone bigger, but I am overall very happy with 450cc which so far has increased my breast size to 34D. My confidence has increased I have noticed. I absolutely have no regrets with this surgery. Advice from me is to ask questions, do lots of research about the process and recovery. Also go back as many times as you need to to try on sizers and make the decision that is right for you. And look at before and after pics of other ladies. Before and after pics really helped me to decide.
