I don't have the typical bump on the bridge of the nose. I had an "overdeveloped columella and a bulbous tip". It runs in the family and I had always felt self-conscious about it. I researched OKC doctors and went for Dr. Wayne. I could not be happier. I've read horror stories about rhinoplasty-obviously its the center of your face and its a very daunting procedure. It was my first time under the knife and it went as smoothly as could be expected. My recovery was great and within one week I had minimal yellow bruising under one eye with no major bruising under bilateral eyes only edema. I have went and had to wait a while a couple of times but I am thankful he is being d/t being thorough because he always takes his time with me even if he is an hour or so behind his schedule.

Hey people! Just a short update about my procedure. Its been a couple years since I had the surgery. I am still very pleased with my results. I did have to have some steroid injections to the tip of my nose around four times over the course of the two years due to scar tissue buildup in the tip that caused a small bump. Dr. Wayne addressed the issue over the course of time until it was fixed. This was a side effect of the tip of work he had to do to bring the tip down.

It looks great. When you say you had an overdeveloped columella -- did they correct that? May I ask how, or if you had a closed or open rhino? I have a thick columella -- I don't know if that is what you mean by 'overdeveloped' and I did open rhino, I didn't think much about the columella until after the rhino, because it was the least of my concerns. But because my columella is so think, it seems that the incision from the open rhino is taking a while to heal. I'm at four weeks.

My incision site took a while to heal as well. Don't worry. It will get better. The area they make the incision on is one of the areas he was able to reduce in size and volume. It was larger than what you would expect to see on someone who has a "pretty nose".
