Tray 23 and Refinements
Hey guys! I'm starting to see big changes here! Time has flown by and cannot believe I'm so close to finishing up my treatment. I finished my lower arch on tray 18 and used it for about three extra weeks while my refinements arrived. I am currently on tray 2 of refinements and Tray 24 Upper. I'm so happy to see my front teeth finally straightening and find my myself smiling so much more and not worrying about positioning my head at certain angles so my teeth wouldn't show! This has been such a liberating experience and my confidence has skyrocketed!
I only have six more trays to go on the upper arch before I move on to refinements (my orthodontist pretty much guaranteed I would need them). I ended up wanting to get refinements on the bottom arch because I started to notice the dreaded black triangles! They're not super obvious to anyone else but they are to me because I find myself examining my teeth every time I look at a mirror (btw does anyone else does this or am I becoming OCD??).
I also recently confirmed how WONDERFUL Acceledent's customer service was. My dog Eddie got ahold of my device and found her chewing on the mouthpiece underneath a table! Thankfully she didn't even scratch the device itself, just the mouthpiece. So I called their customer service line on a Friday morning and got a replacement mouthpiece the very next day! They were so polite and professional! if that's not great customer service I don't know what is!

Great progress + Acceledent!
Whoa time has flown by! It's been a little while since I've posted an update, life has been crazy lately!
A lot has happened since my last update. I got Acceledent! For a while I wasn't sure if I was going to get it because my orthodontist did not offer it. I asked him about it on my next appointment and he said that he had heard of it, but never looked much into it. I asked him if he was willing to let me be his first patient to try it and he agreed! I had to wait a little over a month to get it because he had to take classes for it. I have been using it since October 15 and it has been amazing! I love being able to change my trays weekly now and I teeth have improved dramatically since the past moth. It also makes my mouth feel less sore after switching to a new set of trays and the 20 minutes fly by. I will say that there is a lot of drooling involved if I don't sit upright because only my back teeth touch so my mouth stays pretty much open. Biting too hard can be counterproductive so I bite enough for the mouthpiece to stay in my mouth and let it do its job. By the way since I was my orthodontist's first patient to try it he sold it to me at cost for $800.
I am seeing great progress so far! First of all, I have noticed a huge improvement in my bottom teeth! I am currently on tray 11 and aside from a couple of teeth, my bottom teeth are pretty much straight! I only have 18 trays on the bottom so I'm assuming those will be easily fixed with the remaining trays. However, my top front teeth look pretty much the same. Most of the change is happening in the very back to make room for my front teeth to move. I have started to notice a lot of gaps in the right side of my top back teeth so I know I won't see changes in my front teeth for quite a while ( I have 30 trays on top). So far I'm very happy with the results!
I added some before and after shots. Until next time!

Staining and Tray 5
I switched to Tray 5 last Sunday night. While the trays were tight, it really wasn't as bad as tray 4, which were SUPER tight and painful! I was surprised Tray 5 did not feel as tight because the week prior to the switch was filled with visits to the OK state fair (captain crunch corndog was a good choice :) ! ) and a wedding that weekend. However, I still managed to average 18-20 hours thanks to an app called Atracker. I downloaded the app after reading mikenj's review on it. You basically create two tasks: Invisalign ON and Invisalign OFF. When you put the aligners on, simply tap "Invisalign ON" and "Invisalign OFF" when you take them off. SUPER SIMPLE! The second screen lets see each time you have tapped on each task, which helps me keep track on how many times I've brushed my teeth. The third screen lets you track your progress through a pie chart so you can see how well you've done in that day/week/month.
Now for the important part. BEWARE OF COLGATE PRO HEALTH MOUTHWASH! I used this about a month ago on two occasions. Sunday night and Monday morning. By lunchtime I couldn't taste anything. My mouth felt like it was badly burned. No pain, just a lot of numbness. So I went online and found A LOT of complains about the "Pro Health" line of Colgate. Some people complained about the numbness while others claimed that it caused them terrible mouth sores and quite a bit of staining. I obviously stopped using the product right away. Thankfully I started tasting food again after two days. However, I noticed dark brown stains between my front two teeth and the tooth next to it. I KNOW it was the mouthwash because I use a Sonicare toothbrush and brush and floss at least 5 times a day! My ortho visit came up a few days later and asked him to remove the stains. He was able to remove the majority of it but not all. My biannual teeth cleaning is this Saturday so I'll ask them to remove it then. Please stay far far away form this product!
