Well since you're asking, my advice would be to choose someone close to home. You cannot go into this trying to save money -- you'd be better off waiting until you could pay for the most amazing doc that you can find (or at least one highly recommended like the one near you). There is no "doing it right the first time" but there is going with your instincts about who will take good care of you and listen to what you want. Believe me, I developed complications a year after my first BA, and I had to find another surgeon to fix everything, so $20,000 later, I now think that 7 grand was not too much for my initial surgery. There's always chances for complications, and at your age, you will need to get them done again several times in your lifetime even without complications, so save now :). Regardless, for all of the weird sensations and possible smaller things that will arise weeks after the surgery, you will want to be able to drive to your doc's office, so I recommend local.
