So worth it

I have always thought of my nose as more prominent and bigger than my friends, but when I was in my teens I just accepted it and never tried to waste my time worrying about it. Finally, as I was in college and trying to mature and look my best, I really started to get self conscious about it. I would look in the mirror and the first thing I would look at was my nose. Now my nose isn't absolutely horrible or a huge distraction, especially to other people because they think I'm insane when I say I hate my nose, but to me I thought it was distracting to the rest of my face. I have a wide bridge that starts wide at the eyes and just goes straight down without any curve it just goes down into a very bulbous tip, and everything just widens out even more when I smile. I also have a slightly deviated septum so when I smile and take pictures, it's wide, bulbous and a smidge crooked when you look very close. So about a year ago I finally asked myself, "well why don't I get it fixed?" I had the money available to get it and I really started to desperately want it, I just had to convince my mom. After a year of begging everyday, she finally agreed and she let me start making consultations. Now I am a psycho when it comes to research, so I did an ABSURD amount of research and when it came to narrowing it down to two surgeons to consult with. I did endless research because everything I read swayed me in one direction and I would keep going back and forth between 3 or 4 of them. Finally I felt confident with two surgeons- dr. Dayan and dr. shah. I met with them and LOVED them both. Dr. Dayan was much more pricey, and it took an incredible amount of thinking but I decided on dr Dayan because I felt he was more experienced, especially with closed because a closed was what I wanted. Shah said he could do it closed but he preferred open and would be compromising certain things if he did a closed. I did like him a lot though from what I saw of him at the consultation. Anyway, I am super excited about dr Dayan. I actually was a little biased before the consultations because dr Dayan has a lot of videos on YouTube and I watched them all and so I thought he was super smart and experienced and before going into the consults I had my decision basically set on dayan. But shah was so impressive during the consultation that I heavily considered shah, so that says a lot. I did read some bad reviews about dayan, but every surgeon will have bad reviews and I couldn't solely base my decision off of those (I also heard shah forces people to delete bad comments.) He may have performed some bad rhinos, but you can't forget he has performed many many good ones that I have seen. You're taking a risk to matter what surgeon you choose. I had my pre op last week and I am a week away from tomorrow so I am getting super excited! I'll be sharing my after experience with you as well!
