My story starts like everyone else's. Having big breasts as a young teen, them growing uncontrollably and now extreme back and neck pains. From what I can remember, the first time I remember going bra shopping for school I was already a size D. I remember wanting the cute Flirtitude bras from JCPenney but my breasts were far too large for those. In my freshman year of college my body went through many changes from gaining the freshman 15 and taking birth control pills. Now, in my senior year of college, I am the heaviest I've ever been. Weighing in at 180 lbs, height at 5'4 and my breasts are the biggest they have ever been. Now I have back pains EVERYDAY. Today, I met with Dr. Peters and she was phenomenal! She was very personable and answered every question I had before I could even think to ask it. She made me very comfortable and explained everything step by step. She explained to me that she would do the anchor incision pattern because my notch to nipple measurement was 14 cm. 14 CM!!! She also estimated that she would remove 700g from each breast. That's 1.54 lbs from each breast! I am so excited about this surgery. I thought I would be nervous during the consolation but I was really relaxed. Until, that is when drains were brought up. I've heard horrible stories about drains. Dr. Peters explains that she inserts drains inside of the incisions and that it wouldn't hurt as bad as creating separate "hole" to remove fluids. I'm not sure if I believe that it won't hurt as bad as she say it will, lol. Now I'm really anxious about getting approved for the surgery by my insurance. Does anyone who have BCBS IL know how long it takes to get approved? I'm trying to have the surgery as soon as possible because I'm taking a trip to Las Vegas in the beginning of July. Also, do surgeons usually provide post-surgery garments?

Congrats on taking that first step. Wish you all the best going forward to your day of surgery. Heads up ;-)
Thank you! I'm so excited.
Oh, you will LOVE Dr. Peters! She performed mine in March 2015 and I am so pleased. I had about 3 pounds total removed. I regret nothing and had zero issues after. Good luck! Message me if you have any questions.
And the drains didn't hurt at all. It was an odd "snaking" sensation when she removed them, but that's it. I sobbed after she sat me up to take a look after the drains came out....I was that happy and overwhelmed with the difference.
