My story is very similar to many of you who have...

My story is very similar to many of you who have had rhinoplasty. I have been called many names because the nose droops a lot when I laugh and smile. Beak Nose is one and I will always carry the feelings I had when people called me this. I am so grateful for the website and thank everyone who has written about their experience. It has been so helpful in many ways.

When the procedure is finished I will write about my experience more but here is my problem..

The doctor wanted a CT Scan so I had it done in Europe where I live. When I saw the doctor for the consult the scan seemed to be fine. But I received an email yesterday stating the CT Scan is not compatible with their sinus machine and would I be able to pay $700 to $1000 to have another one done in a facility they recommend. She stated the surgery can still be done but it is preferable to have the scan. There is no time from now and my scheduled surgery to have a scan. I fly in Monday then surgery is Tuesday. Has anyone needed a CT Scan for their surgery? Will this affect the outcome?

Here is the breakdown of the payment...
$15,000 for Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty/Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
$1,500 for facilitly fees
Anesthesia is $650 for the first hour, $90 each additional 15 mins

Additionally, I am flying from Europe so I am paid for the flight, hotel and travel insurance.

I am not sure what to do, I will lose my flight and hotel money if I reschedule to have the CT Scan redone. I was nervous to begin with and to get this last minute email just amplified the nerves.

no worries

Everything is fine now. I probably was overreacting. They emailed me and said it is not a problem if the doctor doesn't have it.

4 months on.

I had the surgery in August and now I am 4 month recovery. The recovery has been slow but I believe my nose now is not going to change very much, especially the shape. I am praying the shape of my nose is from the swelling and hoping a miracle will happen in the next few months. As you can see from the photos I have an arrow shape nose now. The photo is of me looking straight on and it is even worse when I look down. It is uneven, slants to the left and now my nostrils are completely different. The left nostrils looks like it caved in. I look like a before picture. This 2 hour procedure was a lot of money and I feel it left me looking disfigured.
