I found out about Dr. Shahine from a Shecky's...

I found out about Dr. Shahine from a Shecky's event in nyc. I was impressed with the pictures and they gave free consulation on-site I was basically sold when she told a price of $5,000. I always imagined in would be at least triple that to have it done in nyc. I set a 2nd follow-up appointment and did some research on the Dr. I found very happy customers with the only complaint of long waits, I found 2 reviews that deeply concerned me. I went to my 2nd appt and was given a little bit more info but I wanted to meet the doctor first so we set an appt for me to meet him. that day I was able to speak to 2 ladies in the waiting room who had the procedure done and were coming back for more, thast put me more at ease.

Then I met the doctor, he was very nice, answered all my questions and told me I would have beautiful results, he explained that the wait time is no disrespect to patients its just that he takes his time with his patients. I gave my $500 despost and booked my appt for 1/9. The consulant gave me my prescription for pain killers/antibiotics.

As my date approcahed I read reviews online to help me decide what to get to prepare. I bought depends, neosproin and gauze pads. I saw people who had ordered theri garment in advance but no one informed me of this, so the day prior I called the office and was told my consulant was supposed to give me that info, they gave me the website and I ordered it (I had to pay extra for expediate shipping)- they said to wear the garment on your 3rd day.

My surgery was scheduled for 8pm on a Wed night - I told the girls that if I get stuck waiting 7-8 hours like the reviews stay I would leave. I live in NJ and she told me to call me before I levae and they would tell me when to come. I called at 7pm and they told me to wait until 10pm, at 10pm they said 1-2am and at 2 they called to say to come in at 10am the next day. I was tired and would rather have the surgery in the morning then in the middle of the night. I arrived to the office a little after 10, filled out my paperwork but the dr didn't take me until almost 1pm. We went over my procedure(front/sides fat removaland transfer fat into my butt. I didnt want too much because I didn't want people to notice. The surgery began by inserting numerous needles into my stomach to pump the salline solution, this hurt. I would say an 8 on a 1-10 pain scale. The dr and assistance assurmed me that this was the worst part. I had to wait 30 min for anestia to kick in. Dr came back in and said everything looked good (i was huge - looked like I was 9 months pregant) - he made the incisions and I didn't feel anything,.

He started on my lower abdomen and I felt pressure but not excessive (maybe a 3 pain scale) as he moved up my stomach it became more and more painful where I had to ask if this was normal, he said no, immediately stopped and gave me more "not concentrated" anestia. He waited a few minutes for that to kick in and started again, I still felt pain, he said that area must be very sensative for me, they have me another pill of I don't know what, he tried to work on the other areas until it kicked in. It still hurt, maybe just a little bit less but pain was on the level of me having to take deep breathes, pep talk myslef, squeezing the nurses hand and kept asking the dr how much longer. And I also need to keep asking for breaks, everytime I asked the dr to stop he did so asap.

Dr. Shahine told me he felt bad that I was experiencing this level of pain and it is very usually for patients to feel as much as I was. After about 2 hours, he was done with my stomach and sides and it was time for the butt. The needles of solution in my butt were less painful then my stomach but still very uncomfortable. he told me took out approximtly 10 lbs of fat and was going to put 1.5lbs in each butt cheek - this was about 4-5 needles full of fat. I was very nervous for this part since I heard it was the most painful . IIt is s o hard to explain the feeling because nothin is like it. You feel something being injected into your butt and you sort of feel the skin stretching, I told him not to do too much b/c I didn't want stretch marks. The butt fat transfer only took about 10 minutes. Once over I was relived!

The dr took pictures and the nurse helped me get dress, my fiance met me and walked me outside. I was very sore, felt like I was just beat up. Trying to sit in the car was VERY painful - I bought a pillow to sit on and towels in case I was leaking but the nurse wrapped me up pretty tight. I drank a gaterode and wentr home. When I got home , saw my body and all the blood I started crying, I couldn't believe what I did and was scared that I ruined my body, I took more pain med and tried to lay down but it hurt, I dosed for only 30 minutes. I got up and whernn I smelt food _ I became naucus, i waited an hour - eat some soup and immediatly threw it up. I took more pain med and went to sleep covered in towels and on my side with a pillow and yoga mat prompting my body off the pressure. I only woke up once during the night, I used the bathroom and changed my diaper but it was very painful getting out of bed - defintly needed assistance.

I slept until 8am the next day - same thing very hard to get up but I felt a little better already - I actually washed dishes and logged on my computer. I must say I felt better than I thought I would. I had a massage appointment at 3 so I tried to stand up as much as I could throughout the day. The massage hurt since I was swollen and sensitive but Im glad I went, she drained a lot of fluid out. I am cureently on day 5 of my recovery. I have been to 3 massage appts and my swelling has decreased a lot. I am still sore and trying not to sit is the hardest. I went back to work on Monday - 4 days after surgery. Lucky I can make my own hours b/c i only stayed for about 4 hours, I put boxes under my pc and keyboard so I can stand up at work and drive with a pillow under me. Driving is the only real time I am sitting.

Each day I feel stronger and am able to stay at work longer. Im up to 7 hour days. I already had to order a smaller garment because mine is too big so I am stuffing it with magazines and towels. Im excited b/c im starting to see my flatter stomach, my butt is only a little more fuller, I wish I would have had him put more in but the good part is no one will ever guess that I did, it looks like I've been working out. I will continue to post pics and updates, feel free to ask me any questions.
