Hi girls
As my surgery date is fastly aproaching I'm stocking up on post op essentials ..ice packs purchased ..pain killers etc.. I have read various reviews about coconut oil helping to minimise scarring and figured worth a try hey! Can any of you ladies recommend which one to buy as there's a few different types and the price ranges from a few £ to like £15? Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks :)

Welcome to the community, glad that you are sharing your experience with us. Which method of labiaplasty are you having? Coconut oil is simply amazing, it's so versatile!! I use it on my legs after I epiliate them, as they always get red and sore, and within hours it looks better! Here is some additional information that you may find helpful, and also - be sure to check in here to connect with others having labiaplasty soon.

I had my op done on the 8th May and will be using coconut oil when I finish using the ointment! I also had my op done at the Nuffield. I can't remember exact name of coconut oil but it's Lucy's something or other and I bought in sainsburys.

Hi thanks kay How did your op go? I'm getting nervous now as my op dates getting close, excited as well though :)

From start to finish it went really well! I was nervous but as it got closer I found myself excited more then anything. Everyone was so lovely! I was first on the list, I went down about 12:10pm and was back in my room by 13:30. I had mine under a GA which was absolutely fine (first time iv had one) and I felt completely fine when I woke up. I had local anaesthetic injected in also so had no pain when I woke up. It started to build a tiny bit when I was back in my room but it certainly wasn't anything like I expected. Iv had so little pain it's really surprised me. It's been uncomfortable and at times the sutures have been a little uncomfortable but honestly it just wasn't anything like I expected. I was back up and about the next day ( maybes should have taken it a little easier but I felt fine). Iv iced the area on and off and applied the ointment regularly. Washing after every time you go to the toilet gets to be a bit of a pain mind as I was showering as a little over cautious.. Im still a bit swollen and bruised but hoping that settles down over next couple of weeks and that the stitches dissolve soon! Hope all goes well with your op!

The coconut oil I used is from waitrose. Its 100% virgin oil and is found in the foid section. I'm sure all supermarkets will stock this.

I have wanted labiaplasty for many years now but never gained the courage to seek medical advice mainly due to feeling embarrassed ,How do I brace the subject? I couldn't even confide in family members yet alone a stranger.I felt so paranoid and self conscious when it came down to intimate moments with my partner of 10 yrs who I did eventually confide in,I explained to him how I felt paranoid of my protruding labia and hated how my lady parts looked,My partner Was not quite as supportive as I'd hoped and in his words " There's nothing up with you, what a waste of money" I didn't persue the issue with him again and started to look for information online forums etc..
surprising I realised I wasn't alone there are plenty of ladies with the same insecurities regarding there lady parts. After ditching the unsupportive partner for numerous reasons,I finally gained the courage to book a consultation with a local female gynecologist ...
The gynecologist examined me and informed me I wasn't what they class as medically abnormal my labia was what they class normal! Well it doesn't look normal to me! I expressed to her how I felt so insecure and paranoid about my lady parts and wanted labiaplasty to correct the issue.I have opted to have local on 16th June laser method.
I feel so excited yet nervous to be finally getting the surgery I've wanted for so long :))))

Hi, it's only me again, glad (and amazed) to have found someone getting surgery at the same place as me. I was also told I was 'normal' and that if my labia were any smaller at all she would not operate on me. You can see on my photos they are not really small! Anyway lots of luck won't be long now.
