I am now 4 weeks post op. I'm doing this so I can help give others the courage to do it.
This forum has helped me so much and I'd like to help others with any questions they have. Surgery needed after 5 stone weight loss. I train daily and always felt frustrated with my lower abdomen as it never ever changed. I am in the U.K., no drains needed after surgery. Stayed in hospital for 2 days to get on top of the pain. Pain subsided completely on day 6 post op. I am feeling full of energy and can't wait to return to training. I've found this the most frustrating.4 weeks on and feeling great! I am swollen at night and starting to itch on the incision line. Ask away...I'd love to help anyone who has questions x

Wow!! I am also 33 and had full tummy tuck with liposuction. The worst part has been taking pain meds.

That's good... by day 7 I didn't need anything other than a few paracetamol every now and then. How do you feel? x

Hi, I go in on Monday for my op and have felt nothing but excitement then my dad talked to me! Asked why, I'm getting older and everyone has something, to find a personal trainer, he doesn't understand the loose skin bit!! I'm 38 by the way lol, but he has rocked me a little, am I risking my life to have a flat tummy lol, bit over the top I know, how long before you were up and about please x

Hi Lucy... ahh I had this too from family members. Don't listen, it's about what you want. My mum kept saying it's vanity and who was I trying to impress. I did this for me and I'm so happy and excited now it's done, and in a few weeks you'll be the same. Are you in the U.K. or America? I was getting up and coming downstairs by myself by 5 days after the op. By week 2 I was going out for meals etc but still limited movement. By week 3-4 I felt like my old self. I'm on week 5 now and I'm standing up straight and I feel amazing. I'm loving it.
So did you lose weight? Ask me anything you like xx
April 1, 2017
I'm in the U.K. No haven't lost weight, it's just the pouch from kids!! Prob could lose some but I'm hoping it'll spur me on when I see a flat tummy, I'm fit and keep fit so it's frustrating I don't have the flat tummy to go with it!!

They'll keep you in a few days then, I stayed in for 2 days. Yeah and it'll never go. I have a personal trainer and I work out 6 days a week, mine was from food though not kids and I couldn't get rid of mine. That's exactly how I felt. Honestly I feel amazing already and I'm only at 5 weeks post op. It seems extreme to some people and people will secretly judge. I didn't care, I wanted it and I'm so glad I did it. Don't let other people's fears put you off because you deserve it x

I'd of preferred to stay in longer, they seemed keen to get me home on the Sunday, I had the op on the Friday morning. Haha! Ah let me know how you get on x

5 weeks PO
Feeling amazing. I can stand fully straight now and feel completely like myself. I can't wait to get back into the gym! I'm starting to get itchy, assuming that's the scar getting better.

you look great! I've also lost 5 stone, I'm on day 3 post op breast reduction as large breasts were hindering my progress in the gym! I'm hoping to have a year training hard then I'll also be having a tuck with liposuction on the flanks. I'm hoping I can get back to the gym in 6 weeks x
April 1, 2017
Well done you! I know how hard it is. You'll recover quickly like me because you're so fit. How are you feeling?
Yeah. My 6 week check is Thursday, hoping I get the all clear x

Congrats...You look great! I'm so nervous but yet excited I'm 17 day pre op 4/19... I'm ready! Any advice on post op . I see a lot of the ladies post that you need a binder due to swelling?
April 1, 2017
Thank you! Yes I'm the UK they tend to use the binder everywhere. I have to wear mine for 6 weeks. Goes down my thighs and up to under my chest. You wake up in it. My swelling calmed after around day 9. I'm now starting to even out and I can see my new shape.
Do you get to stay in over night? I'd highly recommend that to you. I needed strong drugs for the first two days. I came home day 3.
Make sure you roll out of bed onto your side, I imagine they'll tell you that though. And you'll need help at home for at least 7 days xx
April 1, 2017
Thanks, i'm taking notes from you ladies and I greatly appreciate any advice I can get! I go in on 4/10 to get my pre op instructions I just want to take notes so if my doctor happens to not mentioning something I can bring it up as a question and concern. I had two C-sections I'm hoping that is comparable... I did well with recovery. But that was 28 years ago lol...
April 1, 2017
Haha, this forum is amazing for advise and in the days after my surgery I spent hours on here and when I had questions they were all answered here. Ask away, I'll answer any questions. I've not had any children but I believe it's a good comparison x
April 1, 2017
I sure hope so... thanks. As I get closer I will post pics I'm still trying desperately to lose much weight as possible before the date.
April 1, 2017
I feel quite well considering its only day 3 post op, I'm in the mirror obsessing about my belly now though because the large breasts hid my pouch as I call it
April 1, 2017
Your scar is fading nicely, did you use any ointment on it? I go on 4/12, a bit anxious!
April 1, 2017
Hello, no I'm still wearing the tape, hoping I can start using bio oil at the end of this week when I get to 6 week mark. Don't be nervous, after about 4 days it's crazy how the body heals x
January 13, 2018
hi Claire, I had a tummy tuck 5 weeks ago by the same surgeon as yourself. I'm happy with the results just a little concerned about the shape of my belly button. I've noticed on your pictures yours is a little similar, triangular in shape but your seems more natural in shape. I'm just wondering how yours looks now as it has been a while since your tummy tuck. any advice with be greatly appreciated..x
January 13, 2018
hello! how do you feel? I relied on this website so much, I was on here constantly until about 16 weeks after. I can show you a pic no problem xx
January 13, 2018
I feel great and have healed really well. it's been hard though with 3 children to look after too. I'm happy with the results just the shape of my belly button. I do have a follow up appointment with him this Tuesday so hopefully he will reassure me. feel cheeky asking but has your belly button more oval shaped now.. this is all new to me.. hehe.
January 13, 2018
ooo I can’t imagine having to look after children after having that! yeah I’d say it looks normal but you can see scarring. I can and you a pic are you on Facebook I could pm it to you? or I’ll see if there’s a way to do it on here x
January 13, 2018
aww no I'm not on fb. I've tried to upload 2 pics on this with added questions put it won't let me do it for some reason. I'll keep trying though. your belly button looks way better than mine though. just hope mine heals as time goes on like yours. :)x
January 15, 2018
it will I promise. all of a sudden you just heal. mine looks normal apart from my scarring is dark because of tanning on holiday (even though I used 50) xx
That would be fantastic.
