I am 26 years old, height 170cm, weight 76kg and currently wear a 32H. I've always had big breasts but after gaining some weight when I turned 20 my breasts have grown even bigger, heavier and become a huge pain in the back. For the past 5 years I've wanted to have a reduction, but still in so much doubt! Should I wait til after having kids? Not being able to breastfeed -missing out on bonding through breastfeeding? Possible risks and complications? Or should i Prioritize quality of life?

I'm in the same situation! I'm 27 and really want a breast reduction, but I also want kids in about 5 (ish) years. I'm mostly worried about my boobs growing back when I'm pregnant after spending all that money to reduce them!

I'm also worried about them growing back. I went to the Doctor, they said I will get the operation covered by insurance, I'm sure you should be able to get it covered to. We both have the same size?

I had the surgery last October & it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I was a 32F. I did it because I was uncomfortable, clothing was impossible & I had to buy sizes 2x too big to fit the boobs. This was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I can fit into clothing that actually is my size and I feel like my boobs finally for my frame. I did not go really small, I still have boobs and I am now a size 30DD. I still wanted boobs, but just wanted them in proportion and able to fit into clothes and lift them.
I suggest doing it if you are ready for it. But do your research & only have a surgeon who specializes in breast reductions do it.

Do it! I was 38HH. 62yo. I asked that 2/3 of each breast be removed but I wish I had said 3/4 removed. The pain is a distant memory and my posture is finally straight instead of hunched.
Don't let all that weight hanging from your shoulders stay any longer than it has to.

I'm 44 I was a 34H and I had the reduction done 2 wks ago. It's not that bad. I thought the worst and as long as you as they say it will not be that bad. I'm thinking I'm going to end up with a small C. It's been so worth it. I went to the store today and put on clothes and was so excited that things I couldn't wear I could now. I still have swelling and waiting to really go out and buy things but I would say do it. You will not regret it. I promise you won't

Trying to convince myself they're not that big!?

I'm continuously trying to convince myself that they're not that bad. One day I'll look in the mirror and they don't seem so bad, the next day they look huge and i want them gone! I constantly worry that i'll regret having a reduction, like i won't be myself anymore? Has anyone else had these thoughts? pre-op or post-op?

Yes, I have these thoughts all the time. I'm 46 and I still can't commit to the surgery! Apparently there is a very high satisfaction rate with this surgery and it has been linked to a longer life span, which surprised me. (Swedish study I think.) I am waiting to lose another 7kg (I've lost 14kg over two years - yes, I'm a slow mover) before I do it but I think I will do it. For you, I think maybe wait until after kids so you can breastfeed. My breasts were terrible milk producers though, which annoyed me no end given the hell they've put me through over the years. But if you can feed it is not only lovely for bonding but actually very convenient. Good luck with your decision.

In the last few years I've spoken to so many people that have had a reduction, and they've all been very satisfied! Some wished they had done it earlier! I've been in a steady relationship for 4 years now, but were not planning on kids for at least another 3 years. And will probably have 2 or 3 once we get started! That means I will have to wait till I'm finished having kids, by that time I'll be almost 40. Is it with waiting another 15 years? Just to breast feed?..

I don't know if you have had your surgery or not, but go for it! I am 44yrs old and am 4 weeks post op. I'm still in the early healing stage but this is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself.

It's scary to think that they could be permentantly "ruined" and theyreally not bad now.....tough man
June 16, 2016
I felt that way too- but no way are they ruined!! They are like my high school boobs. I think you'd have a really nice result as long as you are clear on what you want. I don't suggest taking too much out.. After having big boobs my whole life-I would've felt weird if I went any smaller. Trust me after surgery you'll wonder why you haven't done it sooner!!

Yea they are really big, what size what size were you thinking about going down too

If you are questioning having the procedure then I then think of these things.... Do you like the way you look in clothes? Do your breasts cover your rib cage and torso? Do they cause you pain or embarrassment? If so to any of the above and you should go for it. I waited 25 years. My breast were large dense and very saggy. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and dan honestly say the surgery has changed my life in ways I never expected. I had all the same questions and concerns you have. Right up to and after my surgery. It does take some time to get used to the " new you". It is a psychological as well as a physical change but you can't prepare gor either until the surgery is done. I have zero back and neck pain, can wear whatever tops I want, no bra! My confidence level has gone up even though the rest of my body is far from where I would like it to be. I feel free. Good luck with your decision :)
