I cannot say enough positive things about my...

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Clark Shierle. I am a nurse and despite all of my experience in healthcare, Dr. Schierle is the most brilliant, talented, compassionate, patient, and caring doctor I have met.

I was interested in rhinoplasty and possibly a breast augmentation, but was very hesitant to pursue either. I visited one plastic surgeon in another Chicago office and just did not feel comfortable or understood, almost throwing away my entire desire to have plastic surgery. Since I was aware Northwestern Medicine is at the elite end of the spectrum in healthcare, I decided to email the address on their website and see what would come from it. Dr. Schierle, himself, got back to me and discussed all of my questions, concerns, and options. I was so impressed that he was so quick and thorough via email. I was also incredibly impressed by his very attentive, supportive, and thorough administrative assistant, Barb. She was so wonderful to work with and was so helpful throughout the process. During a brief conversation, I mentioned how wonderful Dr. Schierle was- Barb sincerely agreed and said she was so lucky to work with all 3 surgeons in the office and raved about their character, talents, and kindness- how many people do you hear rave about their bosses!? This really confirmed my impression of the quality of surgeons at Northwestern Plastic Surgery.

As a nurse, I have extremely high standards for health care providers, yet Dr. Schierle exceeded all of my expectations. In person, he continued to make me feel exceptionally comfortable. He definitely defies all stereotypes regarding plastic surgeons and I could tell that he truly cares about his patients. He spent a significant amount of time with me, fully answering all of my questions and most importantly, listening to my fears, concerns, thoughts, ideas, etc. I never felt rushed or judged- two things I know patients often feel with providers. The 3D imaging he did with both my face and chest was incredible- something I found other offices did not offer and it made a HUGE difference. It provided me the opportunity for us to communicate beyond words and work with actual pictures in order to VISUALIZE the expected outcome and discuss options and changes I wanted to make. I left the consultation completely stress-free and absolutely confident in Dr. Schierle’s abilities and decisions regarding my care. In fact, I felt so confident in him that when making decisions regarding both of my procedures- I started saying, “Whatever you think is best.” Dr. Schierle also called me before about a week before surgery to ask if I had any questions or concerns and continued answering all of my emails pre and post surgery.

As far as surgery- wow. Dr. Schierle continued to be kind and put me at ease, and the results were amazing. I am currently a few weeks post-op. Breast augmentation- previously 32B, + 400cc, subpect, inframammary incisions. I’m completely symmetrical, the scars are already MINIMAL, and as the swelling is going down, I’m looking incredibly natural. Since I’m petite and a professional, I was so afraid of looking fake and ridiculous after surgery- but I look incredible and could not be happier with the results. As far as rhinoplasty- I had work done on my dorsal hump, straightening dorsum, and tip refinement- open procedure. While it takes rhinoplasty swelling about a year to see advanced results of the surgery, I am already so happy with the results. As soon as Dr. Schierle took off the splint (which minimizes initial swelling), I saw what the end product would be and I was stunned- it was everything I had asked for and more. As far as bruising- I expected to look pretty rough for a week or so, but I only had very light yellow bruising under my eyes day 2 & 3- it was practically unnoticeable. I actually had more of a bruise on my hand from the IV from the nurse than from my surgery. The incision at the columella is quickly fading, as is the swelling. My post op appointments were just like the pre op- Dr. Schierle was very patient with all of my questions, really took his time to see how I was feeling, and set up numerous appointments with me to be sure I was healing well.

I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor or surgeon to work with. His curriculum vitae, talent, and skill are outstanding, adding to his character and compassion for his patients, which truly makes him one of a kind. He has changed my life and I cannot recommend Dr. Schierle enough.
