I've had tired looking eyes for as long as I can...

I've had tired looking eyes for as long as I can remember, so last year I decided to get lower bleph and address them. In hindsight, I wish I had waited until I was older so that the surgery scars wouldn't appear so severe. I did not have any wrinkle lines around my eyes to cover the scarring, so I feel like my face looks worse now. The surgery did VERY little to remove the eye bags and instead left me with two scars that start at the outer edge of my eye and slant down. Additionally, the muscles under my eyes have still not healed a year later and become sore and tired almost immediately when I am in daylight.

I am very disappointed with the procedure I received from Dr. Galiano for many reasons. Initially, he seemed very nice and assured me that I would be happy with the results because the bags would be gone and I wouldn't see any scarring. Here are some of the reasons I am very frustrated: 1) I asked for the surgery to be through an incision under my lower eyelid (water line) but instead he cut from the sides, leaving a scar on both sides of my eyes. When I asked him about this, he said that the scars would fade into my smile lines in time. I don't have smile lines, so instead I have received crows feet from his work. 2) He provided no direction at all for aftercare. I woke up in the hospital and he was gone and the nurse staff had no idea on how I was supposed to care for them (since he does the surgery in a difference facility than Northwestern). 3) When I called him to discuss this and the severity of the swelling, he told me that I may look "like a monster" for a while and that he had told me this in advance. He had not. He set no expectations on what I should anticipate, so everything was very frightening. 4) When I would visit his office for check-ups, I often waited for 45 minutes to an hour after my appointment time, only to have him come in and rush through and say "everything looks fine" and when I would ask questions, he always had a condescending tone, as though my concerns were unwarranted. He may have felt that they were unwarranted, but he should not have made me feel like they were trivial. 5) Each after care visit when I would express concern with the healing, he assured me that everything would go back to how it looked before. After a year of healing, he told me I would need corrective follow-up to remove the scarring. 6) The muscles around my eyes have still not healed after he cut through them. I am unable to be in daylight for very long because it hurts my eyes. The muscles feel atrophied. When I told him about this, he said "sometimes it takes years for that to heal". This is another piece of information I should have received prior to the surgery. I would not recommend him.
