Finally feeling better with my workouts. Still can't do real push-ups, I'm not sure why not. I was told I should be able to do everything I could before the surgery. Anyway, my chest pain is gone and I feel good and am really happy with my results!!

Had another follow up and everything looks good. So, unless I have a problem, I'm free to do as I please now. As for chest workouts, my ps advised push-ups aren't really necessary and maybe avoiding them would be a good idea. But, I should be able to do any exercise or workout as long as I ease into it and start with light weights.

They look good! My surgery is next week and I am getting anxious! How was your your recovery?
Thanks! It was my first surgical experience so I was very nervous. The recovery was a lot harder than I expected. My husband was washing my hair for me for the first couple days and I was otherwise pretty much glued to the couch. I took the pain meds they prescribed for about five or six days. I took ten days off of work and was nervous about going back. The worst part was the weight restriction (no lifting, pushing or pulling more than 10 lbs for 6 weeks). It really limits what u can do. Like grocery shopping, I never even thought about that. I had to take things slow and make small trips. And sleeping sitting up the first few nights was rough too. It gets better quickly and totally worth it. I feel great now with the occasional chest pains but not a big deal. I've been trying to do chest workouts unsuccessfully and I suppose I should give it more time. I have a follow up next week so I'll ask if I should hold off on chest exercises all together for now. Good luck with everything! I don't know why I waited so long to do this. I've planned to do it for many years but wanted to wait until I was mentally past my child bearing years.
I must be crazy because I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old so the 6 weeks is going to be a loooong time for me! My parents are staying with us for the first two weeks to take care of the kids then we will have others help us after that. I thought about waiting until my kids are older but then I would be dealing with taking them to school and activities and there is just no "convenient" time to get it done I guess. I am hoping it is all worth it!
You'll figure it out. Instead of holding the kids sit on the couch and have them climb in your lap. You'll just have to find ways around your limitations. Don't do what I did and wait 20 years because u might have another baby, lol. It'll never be convenient and it's great that you have help!!!
Haha! Well the reason I am doing it is because my husband and I are done having kids! It is a good feeling ;)
I hope everything is going well!!
Everything went well! It is not as bad as I thought. I messed up last night though and did not set my alarm correctly to take my medication. So by the time I got up I was in so much pain!!
I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Take care of yourself and don't over do it.
