Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

I paid $960 to have Dr. Torgerson's office...

I paid $960 to have Dr. Torgerson's office disfigure me.
**Disclaimer: this was NOT done by Dr. Torgerson himself, but by his partner Dr. Pamela Taylor.
After extensive research, I went in to Dr. Torgerson's office for a rather common procedure, the non-surgical nose job. Despite the higher cost than a few other facilities in Toronto, I chose them based on reviews and was pleased with the results immediately after. Then, the VERY NEXT DAY something awful happened: the Teosyal filler that Dr. Taylor used slid from the base of my nose down into my lip settling in two lumps.
Note: I did NOT go to the gym, I did NOT drink hot/cold beverages nor did I touch my nose. I basically sat at home working on my laptop and stayed indoors as instructed.
I immediately contacted Dr. Torgerson's office and sent photos of the lumpy displaced filler in my lip. I was told the earliest she could see me was a whole week later and that the filler would need time to settle. I knew this didn't sound right, but this was my first time having fillers, so I trusted them as professionals to fix this. Wrong move.
What happened in my second appointment left me speechless.
I went in and Dr. Taylor felt the bumps saying "yeah, there's a little something there", when you can visibly see the lumps (see attached photo). She then offered to use an acid to remove them "free of charge". Wow, how decent of her not to charge me for drastically displaced filler. When I asked to have the shifted filler redone since my nose was no longer lifted and since considering this happened mere hours after leaving their office, Dr. Taylor just laughed and said "no, we don't do that."
Their website clearly states that the filler should last up to 8 months, but mine lasted less than 12 hours and now I have lumps causing my lip to protrude on the left side.
I declined the acid, because truthfully, I did not trust her with my face anymore.
Then, as I was leaving the office, Dr. Taylors YELLED across the busy office lobby "[my real name]! Where are you going?! You don't want the acid?!?" I could have died from humiliation by the room full of patients now staring at me. I had already told her "no thank you" in her office, but she failed to register that and felt it professional to yell a patient's name across a crowded room. I rushed out of there completely disgusted.
All in all, this was the biggest waste of $960 I have ever spent. I had saved up for a few months to have this procedure done and expected it to last more than a day. A refund would be the most appropriate response from them, but to this day, I haven't had any form of follow-up to rectify this awful outcome.
I also waited to post this review in hopes that they would contact me: they have not. I am also posting this to help save another person from wasting their time, money and dignity when all we want is to feel more confident about ourselves.
