The one thing I made crystal clear in my consultation: "I do not want to wake up with an upturned nose," and I said "the one thing I love about my nose is that I do not have prominent nostrils." I ended up with the exact opposite result of everything we had discussed in my consultation, and I do not look at all like the simulation photos. We had said we would "maintain nasal tip rotation," but now the tip of my nose goes straight up. When I was horrified with the results, the doctor said she had positioned the tip even higher during my surgery, but then at the last minute decided to lower it a bit.
I now have an incredibly upturned nose with prominent nostrils, significantly asymmetrical nostrils, and new breathing issues, despite not having had any breathing issues previously.
I was confident booking my surgery after my consultation, but the doctor was clearly in a rush and distracted during my pre-op appointment the day before my surgery. When I was distressed by the results and expressed confusion about how this could happen, she said, "But I brought your simulation photos into the pre-op appointment." I said, "Yes, you had them in your hand, but we never revisited them together," so there was clearly no memory of my pre-op appointment. I had asked two clarifying questions about aesthetics in my pre-op, to which she just replied "yes" without any thorough communication. So I am left wondering if she changed her approach based on my two last-minute questions, or even if the Resident who was in the operating room worked on me, since OHSU is a teaching hospital?
My experience with this surgery and the hospital overall has been an absolute nightmare, which I can't understand based on all of these glowing reviews. I could have gone elsewhere for half the price, but I was nervous about the anesthesia and thought I was in the best hands.
I would not want a friend or family member to go this doctor or OHSU for plastic surgery. I never leave poor reviews, but I am left feeling hideous (and had to cancel wedding plans while I wait to have a revision), and I would not want another patient to have the experience I have had.
