Long overdue update

I just wanted to add an update to the problem of tenderness and redness to the incision site (I experience this approximately 4 months post op). I saw my GP and it turns out that I had a low grade infection. Dr.Elam said that this sometimes happens with the internal sutures. I took a small course of antibiotics and the redness went away. Unfortunately I still feel the one bottom side edge of the implant is protruding and a little noticeable. If I lived in California I would ask Dr. Elan to check it out but since I’m in Canada that’s an expensive visit.

4 Weeks Post Op

Feeling happy with the changes but I think there's still healing that needs to be done. My scar isn't looking as flat/healed as I hoped and my chin still has some numbness in the front as well as some pain to the touch. I can feel the right side of the implant as the corner sort of sticks out a bit. I'm hoping it's some more time this I'll will go away. As I know I'm still on the mend.

Dr. Elam' office is still wonderful with follow ups and any questions I have. I definitely was feeling nervous about the unevenness of the implant but I suppose all good things in time.

I feel like the removal of the buccal fat seemed more obvious after the surgery. I'll update on that later.

Post Surgery Day 3

Dr. Elam has been wonderful. I had my surgery on Friday and he touched base with me a couple times over the weekend to make sure everything was going good. He seems to be a genuinely caring person and I'm so fortunate to have him as my doctor.

This morning (Monday) I went in to have the medical tap taken off and have Dr. Elam check the recovery process in person. It was nice to see my face without the tape. Although it seems there is quite a bit of asymmetry in the chin and lower cheek area that I'm hoping will go away with the decrease of swelling.

I do my second follow up on Wednesday in which he will remove my stitches.
