Time To Fix Post Reduction Inversion

I had a much needed breast reduction four years ago. Pre surgery, my nipples were small and somewhat flat, but did erect when stimulated and I was able to breastfeed no problem. Post surgery, both nipples inverted. I found this terribly upsetting, but my husband didn't care either way, and my surgeon wasn't willing to fix them for free, saying they were inverted prior (not true!), so I just learned to live with them. Recently a friend had some cosmetic surgery done with a surgeon who sounded amazing. I decided to meet him. He was so knowledgable, friendly and supportive (and honest, too!) that I decided to go ahead with inverted nipple correction surgery. My nipples are grade 3, so extremely inverted right now - see photos. It's hard for me to post pics of my sad looking nipples, but I'm hoping this will help support others. . I'll post again after my surgery next week.

OMG- this is exactly me, and how my nipples look. I absolutely HATE them and want to get them done. I have talked to a few surgeons and I don't want the "mesh", skin grafting etc- just cut the tendons etc. For heavens sake my kids are grown, and I am not having more, lol! Breastfeeding is NOT a concern or issue. I know how hard this was for you to post this, but I really appreciate it. You are helping me and I am excited for you! Here in the states, the quotes I have gotten about 2 thousand dollars for both sides. I am eager to how how you are doing with all this and thanks for posting. I'm cheering for you! -xo <3

I didn’t even ask what method my surgeon is using but he seemed quite confident that I would have normal nipples again. They are so inverted (as you can see) that the inversion shows through clothing! I can’t deal with this anymore and decided it was time to fix them. I’ll definitely post updates. Surgery is two days away! Thank you for the support! This is exactly why I’m sharing. To help others!

Well, we look like twins and I just HATE it. I look like I am wearing Cheerios in my bra under shirts- so now I am wearing lightly padded bra's. My husband is SO supportive and says he likes me just the way I am- but says if this is something I really want he will back me up. You are going to have the most exciting Friday- and hopefully the weekend to heal up. I will be crossing my fingers for you- but I know you are going to be fine. Best wishes and I look forward to your update and everything you have to say about this. :) Good Luck on Friday!

My procedure was early this morning. I changed into a gown and was given local anesthetic by needle on both sides. The surgeon and one nurse were in the room with me. The surgeon explained everything he was doing. But I could also see the reflection in the light above me. Freezing. Then a hook to pull out the nipple. Then scalpel and scissors to cut the ducts. Then some suturing and onto the next one. I didn't feel anything except pulling and pressure. The procedure took about 50 min. Surgeon said because my nipples are so inverted it's impossible to give me giant protruding nipples without risking nipple loss due to cut blood supply. He said 3 to 4 mm protrusion which is fine with me. I would have liked a bit more but not at the risk of losing a nipple! I had to wait in the office for an hour to ensure blood supply returned to the nipples before being released. I was all bandaged up but felt great so went to do some Christmas shopping. About 4 to 5 hours after surgery, I started to feel a little pain so headed home, took 2 extra strength Tylenol and took a nap. Right now (12 hrs after surgery) I feel a bit of burning, swelling and pain, but definitely bearable with OTC Tylenol. Will have to wear this padding for 2 days then shower and wear nipple shields for 4 to 6 weeks (geez!) to protect the nipple from retracting. I see the surgeon for a follow up in 3 weeks. I'll post again once I take this padding off in 2 days and can take better pictures. I pray these nipples stay out! (((Praying Hands)))

Good luck with your healing, I have been trying to find a surgeon close to my area to plump up my nipples, I would love to have my nipples bigger, I ended up getting mine pierced just so they weren't so flat all the time

Yay! They look terrific! I thought about you yesterday and wondered how you were doing. I would take any protrusion over nothing and certainly not at the risk of losing one! You must be so excited- I am thrilled for you. Be careful and just take it easy this weekend. Absolutely please do update when you can. I want to get this done even more after seeing your photos today. :)

Two and a half days after surgery....

I took the gauze off just now and took a shower. God a shower never felt so good. My nipples look okay. My right one better than the left. The left one was more inverted so I wonder if it will be less EVERTED now. I know there's swelling and I need to just be patient but I want to see the results now!!! I will be happy with little nipples, hopefully with the same protrusion though! I've attached updated pics. My left nipple seems to be a split or cleft nipple. I think that's what it's called. Or again, maybe it just needs time to heal! Time to put my nipple shields on and try to sleep. Zzzzz....
