I had been contemplating a tummy tuck for 15...

I had been contemplating a tummy tuck for 15 years. Finally, after my youngest son graduated from High School, I thought I would finally reward myself by having the procedure done. For me, I could not see any cons to this decision other than the money that would need to be spent, so i looked at the pros, which to me far outweighed the cons.

In 2014, I went to Dr. Christopher Saunders (Newark, DE) for a Tummy Tuck with Liposuction to the flanks and thighs. Prior to going to him, I had consulted with two other surgeons in Maryland (where I lived) but in the end decided to go with Dr. Saunders because of his glowing reviews here. I also check to see if he had any outstanding complaints and medical malpractice in DE and in PA...there were none. So I drove 2 hours out of my way to go to this wonderful doctor. The first thing that struck me was how arrogant he was. After driving for two hours, I was rushed in and out. On the day of my surgery, I expected Dr. Saunders to draw on the areas he would be sucking the fat from in my thighs and flanks, but that did not happen. That was the first problem I had with my surgery. The other problem I had was the Tummy Tuck. I decided that I wanted a high lateral tension tummy tuck to be performed. On day two after my surgery, I was vomiting blood, by day three I had bloody stools. When I called Dr. Saunders, he simply told me that if I was concerned, I should go to the emergency room. It stopped after the third day, but I was no where near pleased with his concern. So after the first month, I went to my primary care physician and told him all about the surgery. He was concerned and told me to get my medical records, as he wanted to see what was going on. I requested my records and was told by his staff that they would not release it to me, but they would send a copy to my primary. My primary care requested the records 3 times and I requested one time before they were faxed to my doctor. Of course, when my doctor received the fax, he indicated that he was not pleased that the entire record was not there. This was nightmare number one, the other nightmare was my belly button. I told him that I was not happy with my belly button that it was protruding out. His response was that it was still healing and that it could take almost a year for a total healing and for me to put a marble in my belly button. I also offered to do a belly button revision for only $500! I have gone to two plastic surgeons in the last year and both have commented on how large the belly button is and recommended a revision. This doctor is horrible and I would not recommend anyone that does not stand by their work, or even worry about the health of their patient.
