Smooth Tuck with Dr Schulman - Amazing! - New York, NY

I am so pleased with my results - I actually never thought I could look this good or wear a bikini - ever. I went to Dr. Schulman knowing that I had loose skin in my abdominal region along with fat I wanted removed. He suggested we do a "Smooth Tuck," his own method of tummy tuck without muscle repair so that he could still do aggressive liposuction. (Apparently, you cannot do aggressive liposuction along with a full tummy tuck - it's too much for the body in one surgery.) I had seen 5 other plastic surgeons in New York for consults, and after seeing Dr. Schulman, I booked right on the spot for a few reasons: (1) bedside nature: he's funny, personable yet confident (a must in anyone cutting you open!), and will take the time to explain anything and everything; (2) his staff: Rachel and Amanda are amazing, they truly go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable both before and after your surgery; (3) skill: it was clear from before/after pictures of others and his realistic approach to what he could and could not do that he is the best at what he does and that this surgery in particular is a "specialty" of his; (4) I wanted a Castle Connelly rated doctor (recommended by other physicians as top in the field); and, (5) responsiveness: both the doctor and his staff return calls promptly, listen to your concerns, and are "problem solvers" (even to the extent that they found me a private nurse to help me for the first 24 hours after my surgery since it was my first time under the knife and I was a bit scared). After my surgery, Dr. Schulman was incredibly responsive. I had my surgery on the Friday between Christmas and New Years, and when I had a question the day after my surgery (Saturday between holidays), he called me back within literally 10 minutes and patiently stayed on the phone with me to answer every single question I had. You won't be disappointed. If you are considering lipo/tummy tuck, etc., it is worth seeing Dr. Schulman at least for a consult. My advice in finding a surgeon: (1) pick someone you are comfortable with, and that includes the staff; (2) surgery is expensive but you don't want to take a "nickel and dime" approach - spend the money to go with the best because you only want to have to go through surgery once, and you want the best result possible with someone who takes pride in their work and is commited to perfection (or as close to it as we can all get); (3) look at the before and after pictures and be critical of doctors' work and ask them what you can realistically expect out of a surgery; and, (4) read the reviews, and that doesn't just mean Real Self - in my opinion, going with a surgeon other top doctors recommend (such as Dr. Schulman) is really important.
