Cancelled Mount Sinai, Booked with McGinn
After some turns in events, I decided Dr. Ting and Mount Sinai ought to be avoided, if other surgeons and hospital organizations are viable to pursue. Mount Sinai doesn't appear to be in a functional position at the moment, taking on more business than they seem to be able to chew. And I'm sure he has patients who are happy with their results, but that's not license to treat people like crap (spoke with a few other patients of his, and he seems to have terrible bedside). They forgot my consultation back in April, they've had staff quit out of concerns over aggressive timelines, misled about hair removal practice, fumbled communication over top surgery... real disappointing time. :/
Sooo I ended up consulting with McGinn. I really like her! She's very clinical, you really get a great vibe of how experienced and judicious she is in this area. In Feb 2019, I'll be having all 3 surgeries mentioned in the first post. We had our first phone consultation in August, and just had our in-person consult for the breast aug. 400cc's is what she advised, and I've liked the results on women who've selected this range, who seem to share my frame and start (5'8, 140lbs, 36A/B).
I'm excited!

So, this is me finally starting an entry covering...
So, this is me finally starting an entry covering the surgeries I'm pursuing. A little background: I'm 32 y/o, mtf, and have been on hormones for 5 years. I wanted to be sure I waited at least a few years before pursuing any surgeries to make sure hrt left its mark first. ;)
In early April, I have a consultation appointment with Dr. Jess Ting, at Mount Sinai. The consultation will cover vaginoplasty, breast augmentation, and chondrolaryngoplasty (tracheal shave). Dr. Ting ended up as my top choice for a variety of reasons- proximity to home (in the city!), reputation, the professionalism at Mount Sinai, acceptance of health insurance, and not least, the quality of his work I have seen. He also honed his craft working under Dr. Marci Bowers. His waitlist is long, but I've heard the wait time after the consult isn't so bad.
Anyways, suppose this means there's two months to browse the community here and gain more insight!
