I am a mother of a 16 year old daughter who was 10lbs 11oz at birth and did a number on my body. I have been incredibly active and am a regular runner and cyclist. No matter how thin I have gotten (143lbs), friends and family members said that I was looking anorexic I could not get rid of my pouch around my belly button. I had my initial consultation with Dr. David Shafer in NYC on February 20th and we talked about what I was looking for and he explained how he would be able to achieve that with a breast lift, implant and a full tummy tuck. I knew he was the man to see. I had a consultation with another PS in December in which I felt he couldn't give me the results that I wanted. I did my research and found Dr. Shafer to be one of the best in NYC. He is incredibly friendly and down to earth. I felt comfortable with him he answered all my question and I didn't feel like my appointment was rushed. I got all my pre-op blood-work done and was given the thumbs up for surgery. I am going for my pre-op visit tomorrow morning to decide on implant size and get my prescriptions and pre surgical body washes. From all of the pictures I have looked at with girls my height and similar body styles I think I am going to go with 350-400cc. I don't want big I just want full and perky because I am nervous about how they would be while running. If anyone has any experience with that I would love to hear from you. I will fill you in tomorrow on what is decided on in my pre-op appointment.

Today I went for my pre-op appointment. I was given all of my prescriptions and body and hair washes along with an incentive spirometer that I need to bring with me to the surgical suite. He took pictures of me and we used the Vectra program to get an idea what I would look like with different size and shape implants. Although you could get an idea what you would look like from different angles it does not take into account that I am having a breast lift. I am going between 2 sizes 355 and 385cc round textured. He is ordering both of them and I have some more time to decide. With all that I keep hearing and what the PS told me today was that the most popular procedure is a revision for woman to get bigger implants. He also told me that when you go larger then 400cc that your breast will sag more and will most likely have to get another lift over time. So I will stick with smaller then 400 Thanks!! I went and got some from close sports bras and I will be ordering a hospital bed tomorrow to have delivered next week. Ill keep posting daily on how I am feeling and other things I come across that may help during post-op.

I just checked out your profile. It looked like we have similar body types except your breast look better then mine. I haven't heard that you can opt out of having the drains put in, I just assumed that Dr knows best and thats why he puts the drains in. How did that work out for you? I think you look amazing already. looking forward to seeing what happens in your follow up appointment.

A drainless TT is a completely different technique. Its a more modern approach that has many benefits, not just the absence of drains. Not all surgeons do drainless. It takes more time during the procedure. During a tummy tuck they lift a huge area of skin off the muscle, creating a large void. Drains are placed to suck out the fluid that the human body naturally creates to fill the space. During a drainless TT they actually sew the skin down to the muscle in rows as they gradually pull it down. Once they reach the bottom all the excess skin will just be trimmed off and the incision closed. The big difference is that there will be no tension on the actual incision due to the rows of sutures, thusly no pulling the scar upward making it settle lower and thinner.

This is going to be a big week for me. I am taking my NCLEX on Monday and by wednes day I should get my results. On Wednesday I will be headed down to NYC which is about an hour south from me. I am staying in a hotel down the block from the surgical facility. My Aunt who works in the city is going to meet me after she gets out of work for dinner and then she will be staying with me that night and taking me over and staying with me till surgery starts and then headed to work late. My husband can't make it to see me off but will be there by the time I get back to the hotel. I am still torn between 355 and 385cc. I would love to see pictures of woman that have had both an implant also had a lift. I have gotten so many things in prep for my mommy makeover. I am posting some of my wish pics. Does anyone think based on what I have now with a lift and 385cc that I will be a C or a D cup?
