I'm 29 and bought the Tria Anti aging laser based on the recommendation of a friend who the laser appeared to be working for. She uses many other high quality skin care products so it's hard to say if the Tria alone made her skin look more firm and full but I'm certain it helped. Anyway I bought my own at the end of October and have been using it according to the directions until this past week where I suddenly got slightly red burns on my face and minor swelling/fluid retention in my cheeks. The swelling isn't that noticeable and doesn't look any worse than what my face looks when it's naturally puffy first thing in the morning, however I can feel the fluid under my cheeks when I touch and I know it's not supposed to be there. There is general pain in the cheeks that feels quite deep under the skin in addition to the slight burning on the surface. It's not terrible pain, but it's noticeable and worrisome since it hasn't gone away yet. The redness on the surface is less noticeable than before but still kinda there.
I'm wondering if I did this by holding the Tria against my skin the wrong way. I've been using it for about two months so I can't imagine my technique was that wonky, but the two episodes that caused the burns did hurt more than usual so I figured I must have not been holding it to my face right.
I use it on level 3 the highest setting which is another reason I'm concerned about how badly I could have damage in deep layers of my skin I can't see.
Google doesn't turn up much.
I'd like to know just how badly a laser like Tria can damage your skin. It's has only been two months since I started I don't think that's enough time to notice improvement in my skin.
It'd be ashamed to only walk away from this with skin damage.

I think one can over do the laser and burn oneself. When that happens, I noticed a cortison creme and taking about two three weeks off is necessary however the results are terrific once the peeling and the redness goes away
Hi Raddish! How did you end up feeling about the Tria results?

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your personal experience with this laser. Did you contact the manufacturer to see if this type of reaction has ever been reported? Would you be willing to share some photos with the community?
