WORTH IT
Hi Everyone!
First, I'd like to thank everyone for sharing their experiences- reading through them helped me tremendously in making an informed decision. On Tuesday, July 14, 2015- I had an upper and lower bleph with fat transfer under the hollow of the eyes and upper cheeks. In addition- I had a lower face and neck lift with suctioning of the jowls and neck. He also cut that pesky muscle which makes the 11 line between the eyes appear- this should alleviate having to put Botox there in the future.
My experience so far has been positive. I chose a doctor in NYC who was highly recommended (Dr. Glenn Jelks). He and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable. The procedure went well. I was given local anesthesia and the procedure took about 3.5 hours. After the procedure- I had a great nurse come back to our hotel and she stayed the night. My husband has been wonderful and I don't know what I would do without his love and support.
I can't say that I am in pain but right now I feel very uncomfortable. My neck is tight and swollen and my face is very swollen. There is minor bruising but a great deal of swelling on my face- eyes and side of my neck. I am taking all the prescribed meds which include antibiotics- Celebrex- eye drops and ointment- arnica pellets- bromelaine- extra strength Tylenol and Valium at night so I can sleep. I am using a 30 degree wedge pillow and avoiding salty foods. I have also been doing cold compresses.
I unsderstand that everyone is different but was wondering if any of you had a good deal of swelling post procedure and if the swelling migrated to different areas of your face and neck as the days passed. Also- can anyone give me a rough estimate as to how long it takes for some of the swelling to subside? Yesterday- my eyes were an angry red color and after sending pictures- the doctor recommended that I ease off the ophthalmic bacitracin because he think I mat be reacting to it. I am going to speak with them today and send more pictures and go from there.
I will post some pre-neck photos and side views. I am going to hold off a few days before I send post neck and face pictures because right now I look so swollen. Hopefully- this will subside soon and I can take and post pictures.
Again- thanks everyone for your generosity in sharing your experiences! I'm not sure why the photos are posting upside down- any suggestions?

Post neck picture - day 3
WalkwithgraceJuly 17, 2015
I'm posting a picture of my neck on day 3. My face is quite swollen so I don't think that part of me is a good representation. I am thinking for day 3- the neck and jowls are looking so much better than pre-surgery.

Wow-I can already see the changes in your face. You look pretty good for 3 days out. Take it easy and be patient. Beauty is worth waiting for.

Yes, you look amazing. What you are going through, from what I have read here, is very typical. I'm still researching and looking for a PS too. Keep posting!

Still swollen but subsiding a tiny bit
WalkwithgraceJuly 19, 2015
Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement and kind words. I see my PS on Tuesday for eye suture removal and on Wednesday for suture removal around my ears. I will report back as to what the doctor says. I'm not in pain just feeling tight and uncomfortable at times. Patience has never been one of my strong suits and I am getting quite the work-out in it these days. It's only 5 days post surgery so I need to remember that and go with the flow. Will post more pictures after suture removal. Again- thanks so much!

Good to know you are going well. The tightness is typical...I still have it and some days it actually hurts. That's why I have Valium, it does help quite a bit when needed to relax this muscles somewhat so I can move my head without always being aware of the tightness and pain. I gotta hand it to all you gals who get the eyes done, as well as the facelifts. What an ordeal it must be and how brave to go through so much at one time! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Your results are amazing; such positive changes! The swollen photo looks much younger than the previous 2 pictures. I had a F.L. and your progress with swelling seem similar to what I experienced.

Glad to hear your swelling is subsiding a bit today! Please continue to keep us posted. I truly hope you love your results when all is said and done. :)

Patience is the hardest part of this process, yes we can be fully presentable at two weeks, but it will be months before the face finally settles. Good luck you look great. We who have gone before you notice the major improvement and I hope you are loving who you are now - the best you can be.
