Day 9 Post Op

WORTH IT
Still feeling pretty sore. I've stopped taking the pain pills decided it was time to just bring on the pain. The pain isn't too bad but I am a bit pain sensitive. So far everything is healing okay. The left breast looks better than the right but they'll even out over time.
So far everything has been good over the past 9 days. I have been going outside and stretching my legs. I still overdo sometimes like I'll make a sudden movement with my arms (ie. reach for something that's a bit out of reach) and it'll hurt but I'm getting better at remembering that I'm not 100% yet.
I look forward to exercising and finding out what the true size of my breasts are. I really can't wait to be healed up. I know it's going to take time. I'm going to post photos later! Sorry if this post is a little scatter brained I'm a little out of it.

What lies beneath... Day 5 post op

Here are the pictures I promised. Just went in to change the gauze. I am pretty bruised up but the incision looks clean. I know there's quite a bit of healing to go.

Looking great! The girls are still swollen, so I wouldn't focus on the areola/nipples right now! They are kook my good being centered on the areola, so that's great! Once your start to settle, things will even out! Hope you continue to feel great! :)
I hate auto correct and can't even tell what I was trying the say! Grr...
They are looking good*
Looking good :)
Looking good. I still have all my tape on since I don't go back to the plastic surgeon in till the 13th. I guess if it starts to peel off that will be ok.
Yeah, as long as you don't pull it off yourself it should be alright. Just don't pick at it or mess with it and things should be good!
Yes I agree. I have the same surgical bra as you. I found the elastic to be quite uncomfortable and seems so I've been wearing it inside out LOL. What a big difference that has made. I've had a lot of irritation at the incision from it. And I have to agree to agree with the lady who said that boobs were sisters not twins because mine have never been identical and they aren't going to be now. Overall though I'm happy with my results and I hope you'll be happy with yours.
You look great. Mine are still a bit un-level at this point (12 days post op) but they will change shape a quite a few times over this first month or two as they settle in. All that tissue has to re-attach and find its new home, and it makes sense that they may not do so at the same rate. Someone else on Real Self mentioned that our boobs are sisters, not twins, and that makes sense :)
wow they look really good!! is that the surgical bra dr b gave you?
Yes this is the one the doctor gave! It's a lot nicer than the original one but it is a little itchy and uncomfortable on the band. Thanks so much :)
Thank you for sharing your journey !!! Its really appreciated! I am currently in the process of undergoing a BR with Dr B. The girls are going to look terrific once everything settles!

Drains Removed! Feeling Free!

Went today to my PS for my first time since my surgery to have my drains removed. He said that everything is looking really good! I'm really happy with my progress so far. The drain removal was painless and was easier than what I imagined in my head. Then he told me that he would remove my surgical tape too. I was a little nervous to see what was lying beneath. But I have to say it looks really good!
I asked for another surgical bra since the one I had gotten originally was so gross and Dr. Blechman kindly got me another one. This bra is so much nicer than the other one. When he brought out the new one I thought, "No way can I fit into this tiny bra," and much to my surprise it fit perfectly (still getting used to this smaller breast thing).
Now that I'm home my breasts itch so badly... I don't know if that's normal but yikes does it itch. I'll upload pictures later since I want to let the girls rest and I don't want to apply new gauze just yet. I'm so looking forward to taking a normal shower later today!

I had surgery April 27th also. Looking good. Isn't it great being able to stand up straight without having a bunch of weight pulling you down?
It's so wonderful! It's definitely a big change! Hopefully your recovery is going well :)
So far the hardest part has been not to overdo it.
I know I keep forgetting I can't do certain things!
Getting drains out was such a relief for me. Each day after that, I felt better and better. Take some Benadryl for the itching. Helped me a lot. Excited to see your pics.
Is Benadryl okay to take with the pain meds? Getting the drains out has been so liberating and I already feel so much better!
My PS said it was ok, but you could call your PS's office quick to be sure. I might have been on different meds than you.
