I had a breast augmentation in 2015 with Dr. Adam...

I had a breast augmentation in 2015 with Dr. Adam Kolker in NYC.

He was the only surgeon I consulted with, but I spent months beforehand researching online. I loved the consistently natural aesthetic of all of his results, and after meeting him in person I knew I didn't want to bother consulting with anyone else.

I was always unhappy either my breasts, not so much because of the small size, but because of the shape. I have moderate pectus excavatum (a chest wall deformity that causes the sternum to be concave) and it caused my breasts to be naturally far apart and kind of triangular/tuberous in shape. I also felt like my areolar complex was too big for the breast itself. I mainly wanted to be fuller and rounder and to soften my weird bony chest a bit so I would have more fashion choices in clothing.

Dr. Kolker told me that the implant size would be greatly limited by my chest wall anatomy, but that he thought he could achieve a good result and camouflage the chest depression a bit. I selected silicone implants at his recommendation, and the rest of the choices were made entirely by him- sub-muscular placement, smooth/round implants, areolar incision with lift. He gave me a size range but selected the final size during surgery.

The entire surgical process was exceptionally smooth and easy, and even more than a year later, I cannot stress how happy I am with the results. They are so much better than I had ever hoped for, and as natural as one could ever hope for a breast augmentation to look. Some people did notice, but a lot of people didn't.

Upside: I feel so "normal" and proportionate and comfortable in my skin. Downside: I spend so much more on clothes now that everything fits right off the rack!

I'm so grateful to talented Dr. Kolker and can't recommend him highly enough. Two of my girlfriends have had surgery with him as well and are equally enthusiastic fans.

My photos are not in his gallery and I don't really want to post them publicly, but if you have pectus excavatum and are considering implants, direct message me and I will share them. (I know I had a lot of trouble finding similar cases when I was doing research.)

Decided to add some photos

A little embarrassing, but I know I relied heavily on the after photos of others in making my descision. :)

Two weeks post-op- unpadded bikini under the shirt. First time I had ever been really comfortable in any bikini, let alone one without padding.
