My main motivation was to deal with all the sinus problems I was experiencing. Every couple of weeks, for a day or two, my nose would run all the time. I'm talking I could go through a box of tissues in two days.
Anyway!
About 8 months prior to my surgery, my sister had Dr. Guida perform the same surgery on her: Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty. I took the opportunity to see how everything would go for her, and then I would decide. Well, my sister used to get bad sinus headaches before surgery which disappeared after it. And the appearance of her nose was dramatically better. At the same time, no one could tell she got anything done! Her nose fits her face. She looks and feels great.
So then it was my turn! It took Dr. Guida about an hour Just working on the inside of my nose… I had a lot of problems. Then he did the outer part, too. To try to make this short, I am THRILLED with my results. My sinus problems have disappeared, and my nose looks (without trying to sound too conceited) SO good! People Cannot tell I have had anything done, yet they notice I "look great," if you know what I mean. My dad says the sign of great plastic surgery is that you can't tell you've had plastic surgery. I could not agree more. My "new" nose fits my face, just as my sister's fits hers. I still look just like me, but now my nose is just better, which consequently makes my face look that much better, too. If I had to say some cons (which I look for in reading reviews- nothing is all rainbows and sunshine) it would be that there are a couple of very minute things I would still change about my nose. I would have it just a tad smaller at the tip and the tiny bump that is still there (used to be way bigger) shaved away. But I am reallyyy being picky. If you go into plastic surgery expecting perfection, you'll always be let down. My results are as close to perfect as I could've hoped for.
One last point, though! I am not a "reviewer." I don't do it on amazon, yelp, whatever. But I feel so positively about my experience and toward Dr. Guida, that I felt I had to say something. He is SUCH a kind, soft-spoken, patient, understanding man. That is in addition to being an incredible doctor at the top of his field. Dr. Guida is just straight up awesome; my sister and I actually joke about just how much we like the guy.
