Dr. Guida is an amazing surgeon—very intelligent and truly takes his time with his patients. The whole experience was fantastic, and I’m so grateful for his wonderful staff as well. I love my nose after the surgery! It looks like a better version of my own nose—I didn’t lose my identity at all. It fits me perfectly and keeps looking better each month. Highly recommend!
I love Dr. Guida. His reconstructive surgery on my nose has completely changed my life for the better. I have so much more confidence and can breathe better also. I would and will always recommends Dr. Guida!!
Dr. Guida is a remarkable Plastic Surgeon. When I first went to Dr. Guida I had already underwent a terrible revision rhinoplasty by another NYC Doctor who markets himself as “the Best”. He charged me a lot of money but way undelivered on results and disfigured me with unnecessary grafts that made my nose much larger and no longer in proportion with my face. After that happened to me, I consulted with my cousin, who is a Neurological Pediatrician at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York to find out where I could find a reputable Plastic Surgeon to help me. He immediately told me the man I needed to see was Dr. Robert Guida. He told me Dr. Guida has a Stellar reputation in the Medical Community and is an expert in performing revision rhinoplasties, the most difficult area of plastic surgery to perform. Dr. Guida reshaped my nose and removed all the unnecessary grafts. Not only did Dr. Guida correct everything, but he gave me a better looking nose than I could have ever hoped for! My nose was perfectly symmetrical to my face! I can honestly say Dr. Guida changed my life in very positive way, restored my confidence and made me feel better about my appearance than I have ever felt before. Dr. Guida is an aesthetic and symmetrical expert! The very best in the Country. Recognized for 25 Years as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. One the most reputable and prestigious medical publications in the Country. I recommend Dr. Guida to anyone who is going for a rhinoplasty or a revision rhinoplasty.
Dr. Guida and his staff are the most amazing people! DR. Guida is the absolute best! My rhinoplasty revision was a breeze! My healing time was extremely fast! I am beyond grateful for my “new nose”!!!
Dr. Guida has been so patient with myself throughout my surgery and recovery. I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty in October 2022. I had so many questions post-op which he and his team answered without fail. The surgery itself had gone smoothly and all of the issues I had prior, basically don’t exist anymore. I would recommend him again and again to anyone who is interested in cosmetic procedures or is struggling with breathing and allergies!“As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.”
In 2020, I made the decision at 18 years old to get rhinoplasty surgery from Dr. Guida. Fast forward to 2024, it was the best decision I ever made in my life! Thanks to the rhinoplasty surgery, I now feel more confident than ever before. Dr. Guida and his whole staff are the most down the earth people I have ever dealt with! They will go out of their way to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible and that you’re happy with the decision that you made. Anyone who is unsure whether to get rhinoplasty surgery or trust Dr . Guida, do not hesitate and book your appointment! From start to finish with the surgery I did not even realize that my procedure was over. Everything went super smooth , quick and I was in no pain once the surgery was over . If I could get the surgery 10 times over I would! Dr. Guida is the best of the best and is truly a master at his craft ! He will always be an important part of my life and the reason why I have so much confidence everyday I wake up. You are a hero, thank you !
I have to say he is an absolute gem in his profession. I recently had rhinoplasty and all I can say is I went from a big Italian nose to a more defined side profile. I look and feel younger and confident in my pictures. He also has a skincare line that I have used now for about 6 months and I truly can say at 60 yrs old, woman tell me all the time how beautiful my skin looks. I suggest Dr Guida on everyones speed dial...lol He also is very kind and mild mannered. Thank you Dr. Guida for all you do!
Dr. Guida elevated my life. As cliched as that might sound, it is the truth. If you are considering rhinoplasty and/or a septoplasty, you're reached one of the right reviews. My story goes back to Fall 2020. Here we go. My older brother suggested that I seriously consider a nose job to improve my profile, give my nose a bit more definition and projection, and to reduce my nostrils - and that was back in late 2019. He knows what he's talking about, given he's done quite well for himself (self made millionaire, etc) and the cold hard truth is, looking your best can help open doors both professionally and personally. And considering how aspirational I am? I went for it. SO... I put in about one month of HARD research, and I scour the internet, send out mass feelers, including ones on this site (RealSelf). Based on his before and after pictures here and on his website, Dr. Guida made it to my top 5 finalists, and truth be told, he was in the top 3. And to make it to my top 5 (after looking at over 40 surgeons), I cross-referenced Dr. Guida's reviews with Yelp, probably the most brutal place for reviews. And his reviews were strong there too. Eventually, Dr. Guida made it to #1, and I went to see him at his office. I was very impressed with the Upper Eastside location, and his office staff, including Madel, the office manager. Dr. Guida himself was VERY personable, and listened intently to what I was looking for, and was VERY honest about his approach, and what he could and could not do. And so, based on his before and after pictures, his reviews online, and finally, the in person experience, I went ahead and made my deposit and scheduled my surgery. As part of the process, I got an x-ray (at the office's recommendation) to see if I had a deviated septum, especially since I had been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Once I got the x-ray back, it showed that my septum was BADLY deviated, to the point where my oxygen had been cut nearly 50% all my life. And so it was Dr. Guida's recommendation that I get a septoplasty to fix the deviated septum along with the rhinoplasty. Now I had some friends (admittedly in the Midwest) who advised against the septoplasty because they knew people with bad results, and their breathing was even worse than before. And that worried me, because even though I had a badly deviated septum, I had not noticed it, and so I was thinking it would be better to live with it than have a surgery and risk making it worse. And so, when I signed up for surgery, I opted for the rhinoplasty only. On the morning of the surgery about 2 months later (12/27/20), it was a life-changing moment. I went to one of the exam rooms, changed into a gown, and then proceeded to wait to be taken to the OR. But as I waited, I began to read the materials on the exam room walls. One of the materials was a magazine story of how Dr. Guida had saved the nose of the teenage son of a family friend. This son was playing pool with friends late at night, the pool cue had hit a chandelier which came crashing down on his head, and glass from the chandelier cut off the tip of his nose. Long story short, Dr. Guida was called, and he performed emergency surgery (with no anesthesia) to re-attach the tip of the son's nose in the middle of the night, and based on the pictures in the magazine, it was miraculous work. That article convinced me that Dr. Guida was no ordinary doctor, and that he was actually one of the best in his field, and that I could trust him. So literally within an hour of my surgery, when Dr. Guida came in to greet me before the surgery, I let him know I changed my mind, and wanted the septoplasty after all. He seemed genuinely touched at my reasoning, and thanked me for trusting him. I was taken to the OR, the staff was so wonderful. I remember staring up at the lights (so high tech) and then the next thing I remembered was sitting in a chair. Yes, my throat was sore (from the breathing tube) but I felt no pain in my nose area. After being allowed to come to, my best friend was in the waiting room, and he took me back to my apartment. He remarked that he really liked Dr. Guida and could tell he really cared about how I would feel about my results, and got a good feeling from him. I recovered a bit more slowly than what was probably expected, and it's probably here that I should mention that I happen to be of African descent, which means our noses are tougher when it comes to getting a natural but improved look, and we scar way more easily. I am happy to say Dr. Guida aced this nose job - the results look natural, and no one has noticed I got a nose job, the scarring is practically non-existent, but I'm just way more handsome. It's pretty crazy. I have a much better job now - I'm in sales ... and yes, looking good can help you. And Dr. Guida has transformed my life. I now visit him about 3-4 times a year for botox injections to eliminate forehead lines that have plagued me since college. Dr. Guida is truly one of a kind, and his staff is incredible.
It's been almost two years since I've had my rhinoplasty and I initially went in because I didn't like how my nose looked and wanted to change it and came out finding out I had been fractured in two places. After my surgery, I can wholeheartedly say I have never been so confident and happy in myself. I am so happy I decided to go with Dr.Guida not only is he specialized in facial surgery which makes him so much more reliable but his treatment and staff are so understanding and lovely. They made sure I was comfortable and stayed communicated with me throughout my whole experience. Photos and profiles say everything about a surgeon and his work is art, I was afraid before going into surgery since my nose is at the center of my face but I have never been so sure in a doctor before! it has now been two years and everyone compliments how cute and small my nose is without ever thinking I've had surgery.
I am a 68 year old ex-smoker and was unhappy with how I’d been looking. I’d had liposuction for a double chin in my 30’s; now my neck and jowls were a mess and kept getting worse. It was finally time to do something and I knew I had to have the very best doctor I could find.I live in New York City and my renowned dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross recommended only one surgeon and that was Dr. Robert Guida, also in New York.I liked Dr. Guida right away. He was kind, funny and gentle and I trusted him immediately. He clearly outlined what procedure he would be doing, which in my case was a plane facelift. He told me the preparations I needed to take, like stopping blood thinners and to stop vaping for the 4 weeks before and after the surgery. He explained what the healing process would be like and surprised me by saying I could color my hair a few weeks after the surgery and that he wouldn’t have to cut any of it.On the day of the surgery I wasn’t nervous at all. I’d been waiting for a long time and this could only be an improvement. The surgery took 4 hours which included a laser resurfacing of my face. Dr. Guida has a surgical suite in his office which reduces any chance of infection. When I woke up, even swollen and in bandages, I knew it was perfect. I was relieved and very happy I wouldn’t have to always wear scarves around my neck all the time. Dr. Guida sent me off to a discreet nearby hotel with a nurse for the first night’s recovery, to make sure there was no bleeding. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. I had some post-op instructions to go home with:I had to keep my mouth mostly closed for the next couple of weeks. Anything I ate had to go though a straw;there was to be no vigorous chewing. I was not to turn my head, look up, or pick up anything I dropped. I slept sitting up for the first week, propped up by pillows. Yawning was discouraged. I used an electric toothbrush which saved me. After a few days I could wash my hair with baby shampoo, delicately around the stitches. Every day the swelling went down a little more and I was thrilled to notice a hint of cheekbone which I had never seen. I had little discomfort or pain and no numbness. My jowls were gone. My neck was unlined. I loved my new chin line. The bruises around my neck went away after a few weeks, in time for me to attend a black tie event where no one noticed I’d had work done. And months later I’m even happier with it if that’s possible. I feel prettier. I like how I look in the mirror now.Dr. Guida is a true master. The nuts and bolts of his work, the incisions and sutures are completely invisible. It does not look like I had a face lift; it looks completely natural. Dr. Guida did only what was necessary and no more. His work is subtle and impeccable. Friends and family who are unaware I had the surgery tell me how good I look. It has done wonders for how I feel about myself. I am delighted and satisfied with the result. Thank you for making me a happy lady, Dr. Guida!
You should see an oculoplastic surgeon for a complete ophthalmic and cosmetic evaluation of your eyes
If the tape is still on, you cannot draw hard conclusions of the cosmetic results. Even after the tape and sutures are removed, there will be swelling which takes weeks to subside. If the chin implant is not right, it can be removed. And jaw surgery, tho more involved could be the more appropriate procedure, but give yourself time to heal as you are very early in the healing process
When a septoplasty is done correctly, the surgeon leaves ample cartilage on the top (dorsum) and the bottom (caudal end) for support. This will prevent the nose from being "weaker" after the procedure. Additionally, often straight pieces of the septum are reinserted during the septoplasty for additional strength. If the lower nose is very weak before surgery, supportive struts should be inserted.Your deviation is far back in the nose and removing it and fixing it should not "weaken" the structure of your nose
Your concerns are understandable. Rhinoplasty can be an emotional experience and many patients look closely at the results early on.BUT it is DEFINITELY too early to get very concerned about the shape of the bridge. The lining of the bones, the periosteum, as well as the surrounding tissue, swells a lot and will change for the better as the weeks progress.Keep in touch with your surgeon. Express your concerns and follow up closely. It will take 6 to 9 to 12 months for everything to settle in. Be calm and patient
There are a lot of emotions that a patent experiences before and after cosmetic surgery. You are very early in the healing process and there is almost always swelling 3 days after surgery.Follow up with your surgeon and discuss your concerns. Reassurance will help you a lot right now. It can take months for swelling to subsideBe patient and stay calm
