Beauty is Pain (And Expensive)
WORTH IT$2,000
First off Id like to stress my double chin was genetic. Even as a 90 lb teenager I had it, and as a 140 lb 30-something it wasn’t getting any better. After a year of diet and rigorous exercise I’m stronger, faster and more toned - but it was clear the double chin was never going away without surgical intervention. I considered Kybella but it seemed like you’re committing to several treatments to see results, which translates to months of swelling. I decided on cool sculpting and having already paid Dr Green’s consultation fee from a previous dermatological issue I had seen her for, I figured I might as well get my money’s worth from her office. I will say I wasn’t happy that it was stressed the procedure cost $1k but last minute the nurses decided I would need both sides of my neck done, which I agreed too, not realizing its EACH APPLICATION of the device that costs $1k - not the overall treatment (fun with words). To be honest though, after having shopped around this was still cheaper than the local alternatives, just wish the language was clearer. Her office is nice, her staff is nice, she’s nice, so at least the overall experience is, well, nice.
Let me tell you, Im not a baby when it comes to pain, but they are lying when they say coolsculpting is painless. The first five minutes you experience your fat freezing which stings a tiny bit but thankfully numbs out, its all good for the next 40 minutes while you wait and then they take it off... and that fat needs to thaw while a nurse crunches it all up under your skin. And its painful. It stings like a mother. And then you do the other side.
My neck was very numb. Weird sensation. I had mentally prepared myself to leave the office with two big hickeys on my neck but the machine left no trace, not even swelling. The first night I was coughing a lot whenever I layed down and at a point my throat felt very tight, like I’d been karate chopped right in the thyroid. I tried to keep the panic to a minimum that I had just paid a butt load of money to damage the inner workings of my throat and slept upright. It was better the next day. The numbness slowly faded over the next couple of weeks, it was weird how normal not having feeling in my skin became, to the point it now feels weird that the feeling has returned.
The changes happened slowly, but having looked at my own head my entire life Im an expert on what it looks like. I maintained my normal exercise routine, normal diet. Its a few days shy of a month now and I can’t believe it really worked. It really worked. My friends have noticed, I’ve noticed. I look like a different person! I’m finally a person with a chin! Its nothing short of amazing.

Sounds like my issue, it's genetic , but I may not have enough fat for the coolmini, and I'm really scared of kybella. Congrats on your results!

Thank you for sharing with us! I'm really glad to hear this has made such a positive change in your life :)
