The reason I'm deciding to write this review four years later is because I am just recovering from removing the chin implant that Dr. Miller put in (combined with sliding genioplasty).
As long as I remember I've always disliked my chin: too round, too big and what bothered me the most, was my really deep mental Labial fold, which looked like a deep dimple right under my lower lip.
So four years ago, after saving my money (mind you I was a student at the time) I decided to consult with a plastic surgeon to see what my options to improve my chin were.
Unfortunately I didn't know about realself back then and just googled top surgeons in nyc. Google came up with Dr. Philip Miller as one of them, so I scheduled a consultation.
During the consultation I explained what I don't like about my chin and that I wanted to open up the mental labial fold as much as possible. Dr Miller said that this can be achieved through a small implant which is going to make my chin look more even, proportioned and shapely.
Being new to plastic surgery and trusting his judgement, I set up a surgery date.
The surgery went well and I woke up feeling no pain or nausea from the anesthesia. Great! I had a bandage under my chin and it was really swollen but the fold was gone, I was excited.
After a week or two, once the swelling went down, the fold came back and was even worse than before. Besides that my chin looked too wide and big for my face. Very disproportionate.
At my next follow-up appointment I raised my concern to Dr. Miller and he said that this was my muscle and he can't do anything about it. I was baffled. Why didn't he tell me this beforehand? This was the main thing I wanted to change.. I cried for days whenever I looked into the mirror.
To sum it up, I wasted my money to look worse than before. After this surgery people even told me that I have a big or "strong chin" making my face look masculine.
I'm very disappointed with this "top" surgeon and I wouldn't go back for any other procedure that I'm considering.
