Not Worth It! PICO did not work for me!

I went to have my PICO procedure and everything was fine. The laser was hotter than I thought it would be so I was a bit nervous about that as I thought I heard there was no heat.
I waited anxiously and after a few days, I called the office to tell them that I saw no visible sign of change and they told me to wait.
I called back a few days later and they still told me to wait. I asked it I could come in and they could just quickly look at it to give me their opinion and they did not have time for me.
I quit calling but it has been almost two weeks and I have JUST THE SLIGHTEST of ANY FADING!!!
No real noticeable difference! I still have to wear make up!
Thus far, I am not sure if it is worth it!

I am very sorry that you felt like I deserve a "one star" review because you were disappointed with the results of your single Pico procedure. I hope you were reviewing the procedure and not me! The office will be calling you Monday morning to try to clear this up. In general the PICO laser takes 3-4 treatments separated by 2 weeks each to lighten melasma. The results are usually measured 4 weeks after the last treatment. The results are not instant, and they are never apparent immediately after one treatment. My office staff and laser technician have tried to reassure you of this on the phone.
I always make time to see a patient that is having a problem or questions! If the staff told you not to come in, it was because you reported no improvement in your face after 5 or 6 days which is absolutely normal. You are welcome to come in for an appointment with me during my office hours at no charge, as always. Our website now has on-line appointment booking.

I spoke to Dr. P about my experience in her office and she understood how I felt in that I just wanted a little support since I was seeing no change.

MPelias - I just had PICO and immediately my skin has welted and raised up everywhere the laser hit. The fact that she has seen no difference at all worries me that you aren't doing a true PICO laser. Everything I read and look at shows that there is at least a one week recovery of welding, browning and skin peeling.

Still Not Getting the Results I want with Pico!

christyee
It has been two weeks since my second PICO treatment and I have new spots! I cannot believe it! I am so bummed out. I do not see much improvement from the second treatment either.
Is it possible that I have skin that is just not going to improve?
Help! Please!

Do you have melasma? If so, laser only treats the symptoms, not the cause.
