WORTH IT$10,300
Still very happy with my results. I wear my hair up with confidence and would highly recommend Dr. Velargo. I’m posting pic of both sides of my face, just took them tonight and a front view from a few days ago. I need Botox a facial and still need filler in my tear troughs.

It’s been nine months and I’m still very happy. Everything is healed and I have no numbness. Someone asked if I had any fat injections and the answer is no. Ive always had a very full face and prominent wide cheekbones. I’m sure my fatty cheeks are the reason I had such saggy jowls. Now that the swelling is all gone I’ll need to have something done with my tear troughs, although glasses hide them ....lol. FYI- No one in my family said anything, they think I’ve lost weight and they all live hours away so I don’t see them often. That’s a testament to the doctor that although I look MUCH better I still look like myself. This is a new picture.

It’s very hard to make a comparison between before & after pictures when a before picture has such a glum look on your face & an after picture is such a happy look.

Lol, the before picture was taken in the hotel bathroom the night before. I was scared and second guessing myself until I took the pictures. The before picture is also expressionless as is the after picture. I intentionally didn’t smile so my face would be relaxed in both pictures. All the after pictures are in my home. I only wear eye makeup and brows, no base in either picture. It is dramatic and my confidence is better now that I don’t look so haggard so maybe that reflects in how I look. Hope this helps.

Another observation about my results regarding my eyes. The lateral brow lift did pull out the droopiness of my eyes, I have large eyes and without the drooping they look more youthful again.

I am very happy you had such a good result! You were an inspiration to me when I was preparing for my facelift October 10.

Thank you, I was checking out RealSelf for a few years prior to having the surgery. I saw all the good results the ladies were having from a couple of different doctors. Fortunately my doctor was reasonably close, his results were good and after meeting him, I knew I’d have the best chance for good outcome. Hope you are as happy as I am!

I am happy with most of it. I had bags under my eyes prior to the face lift ( had eye lid surgery after cataract surgery) and we used a small juvederm after that. The facelift did not eliminate the bags. I had a revision on February 6 2020, the bags are better but still swollen. Dr. Galitz wants to wait and let it heal. I am using ice at night and yesterday started using hemmeroid creme under my eyes. Nothing else is swollen, not my ankles or anything, and I am definitely not overweight. We shall see...

As we already know the true recovery period is months so hopefully this revision helps. I think facial surgery takes a series of tweaks because so many areas are being addressed at the same time. I wish you luck! Take care!

Five weeks post
maridettoJuly 4, 2019
I’m just over 5 weeks post. I’m still swollen and tender along the sides of my face, neck and along the incisions. It was a very invasive surgery so this is what I would expect. It wasn’t superficial. I’m very happy with the results so far but each day with the swelling here and there it looks different, but definitely 100% better. I look just like my younger self, not different or strangely pulled taut, with the exception of a much slimmer buccal fat area. Last week I spent time with my family. A relative passed away and I saw the entire family for the first time since the surgery, including my mom, dad and brothers. No one said a word except my dad who said, “you don’t have jowls, do you? I said I do when I’m heavier but I’ve lost weight and it shows in my face. That is not a lie, I did lose weight and my jowls do shrink but of course this dramatic difference is due to surgery. My wonderful husband heard this conversation and came into the room saying doesn’t she look great, she looks so thin, she’s doing low carb (I am). Then later when we were alone, we giggled a little about that whole interaction. My family wouldn’t think badly of me for my decision, I just don’t want to flaunt an expenditure like this. These are some updated pictures, my right side is more swollen then my left. Excuse the oily shine and I’m a little broken out on my forehead due to wearing a ball cap in the heat. I have a follow up next Tuesday with Dr Velargo and hope to get some Botox.

Wow, you look fabulous. You look amazing in the first picture with your hair up! That style is really flattering (which is in itself an indicator as to how great you look!).

I’ve always avoided my hair being away from my face, even before I aged. I didn’t like my profile and felt I had big features, nose, lips and eyes. So I’ve always hidden behind hair. In retrospect I wish I had taken advantage of those youthful days. This go around I will be wearing my hair back more while I can. Even now I can arrange my hair so that healing incision lines are covered. Thank you so much for the vote of confidence, sometimes we don’t see ourselves like others do. My husband agrees with you and has told me for years to wear my hair up. I guess I need to get out of the hair style rut and listen to him. My problem now is I live on a tiny town and I’m afraid my hairdresser now I see about every 4 months will tell. I may have to go out of town for a haircut.

I definitely understand why you might want to go out of town for a haircut! Your surgery is your business - and some people cannot keep a secret. Although for a hairdresser to share your private information is really not professional. You have great features and look wonderful with your hair up. Your husband is right! :)

You look like a younger version of your old self. Your features are so noticeably beautiful. It brings out your beautiful eyes, and bone structure. I agree, your hair up is just glamorous.

Thank you so much! I think the reason nobody noticed is my face is familiar to them. They live in another state so I see them about every six weeks, so it’s not like they saw me one day then the next where it would be noticeable. They also know I get Botox and an occasional filler so they could just assume that would be a reason if they did notice something different. Thanks again!
