I had my first treatment of miraDry in May 2012. I had been suffering for years and I finally found a procedure that I knew would help me forever. It was easy telling my Mom, but we had to convince my Dad. I ended up having the procedure less than a week after hearing about miraDry and telling my parents. I did not know what to expect, but it was not bad at all. Yes, they say it doesn't hurt, but it does. Actually, the shots they give you to numb the whole area hurt a LOT worse than the miraDry itself. It just feels like a suction cup. The red marks from the miraDry went away within 3-days, but the bruising took about 1.5 weeks to completely go away, after the first treatment. I think I got a level 2 the first treatment. Overall I was satisfied with the whole process, and my Mom was too. I had my second treatment in August 2012. I knew I wanted to have level 3, but she recommended level 4, so I went with it. This time I knew what to expect, and it hurt a lot worse than the first time. Maybe this was because I was nervous and I knew that the shots where going to hurt. Luckily, the doctor went off topic and kept me some what distracted. Overall the bruising was a lot worse from level 4. It took me a good 2 weeks to heal completely. I also had some nerve damage, that has slowly gone away, but I can still feel a tingly feel from my armpit to my elbow sometimes, like when I am putting on deodorant it feels a little numb. That's another thing. They told me I did not need to wear deodorant any more and that I would not have to shave because the procedure kills the hair follicles. This is false, I still have to wear deodorant and shave. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend miraDry to anyone who is suffering from sweating. It will change your life forever. It might hurt a little, but it is 100% worth all the pain. I would say the procedure results are around 80%. I do not sweat on a daily basis like I used to, but I still do sweat, not as bad, in high stress situations. If you are suffering, get help. It will also help with your self esteem. I am only 19 years old, and I am so glad I got miraDry.
