Satisfied 60-year-old physician Norwood 5 FUE
I am a 60 year old physician with Norwood 5 androgenic alopecia. Ken Anderson MD performed a highly successful 2435 FUE NeoGraft procedure on me, seven days ago. As a result of my satisfaction with his care, I am pleased to give him my highest recommendation, and am referring family members to him. He is, indeed, one of the leaders in his field, a true physician’s physician and a fine human being!
Before I selected Dr. Anderson to perform my procedure, I spent considerable time evaluating other Atlanta area hair transplant practices. I wanted to be sure that my procedure would be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon with specialty training in hair restoration who would be performing/directly supervising the entire procedure. Most hair restoration practices don’t provide that level of quality. Above and beyond that, I was impressed that Dr. Anderson had previously been on the Emory School of Medicine Faculty as Director of Hair Transplant, has had 20 years of experience performing hair transplantation, is actively teaching, doing cutting edge research, and actively lecturing, and therefore is considered among his peers to be an expert in his field, and that furthermore the quality of his work has been tested in that capital of vanity, Beverly Hills.
My entire experience with Dr. Anderson’s practice has been excellent. The ethos of Dr. Anderson’s practice is competence, honesty, confidence, professionalism, caring, and courteousness. Everything from the scheduling of the initial consultation through post-op care has been smooth. During the initial consultation, Dr. Anderson met with me and answered all my questions in confident yet humble, honest, straightforward, transparent, and thorough way. He exuded the type of confidence that is the direct result of acting in accord with his high standards, ethics, and morals. (A framed, meticulously typed list of objectives from his teen years shows the type of thoughtful, driven, uncompromising, and inspiring young man Dr. Anderson was, even as a teen.) He emphasized and detailed first and foremost that a maintenance plan would be needed to prevent further hair loss of the at-risk non-transplanted hair. Although he is a pioneer and expert in Artas, he decided that my best result would be achieved by the more labor intensive NeoGraft procedure. I told him very frankly that I would rather look old than look like an old fool and that I would rather he decline to perform the procedure if he didn’t believe he could achieve in me the natural looking result of one who has not been afflicted with androgenic alopecia. He told me that he was sure I would be satisfied.
Believe it or not, the most painful part of the day was when blood was expertly drawn in order to separate out the PRP that would be injected during my transplant procedure. I slept through nearly all of the procedure and don’t recall having had any pain. The post-op pain was nil to minimal for the first 7 post-op days. I was personally called by both Nelson and Dr. Anderson the day after to check on me. There is no linear scar, since I did not have FUT. From the looks of Dr. Anderson’s work as of post-op day 7, I believe I will be satisfied with the end result when the hair grows out 4-6 months from now.
