Never Too Old to Look Better!
Prospective patients who are still on the fence, read on :)
After years of avoiding mirrors and window reflections, I finally decided to find out whether someone my age (77) could have her face improved a bit-- mainly I wanted to be rid of my turkey neck! So I snooped around online, found Dr Roy, and called to request an appointment. They set me up right away, and my sister-in-law came along too. Office staff at the front desk are friendly and cheery, and put us at ease immediately.
Next, Christine swooped over like a mother hen (never mind that she is younger than my daughter), took us to a sitting room, answered a bunch of our questions and told us what to expect. Now Christine is a very attractive, charming and capable girl, knowledgeable about every facet of preparation for and recovery from surgery. In fact by the time Dr Roy came into the room, we were already feeling very positive. Dr Roy himself is frankly amazing. He's funny, warm, caring and down-to-earth while also exuding expertise and confidence, which is totally reassuring!
Dr Roy took a look at me and took some photos, and explained how he could not only deal with my turkey neck, but also fill in some hollows here and there, AND relieve me of the suitcases under my eyes! Far from worrying about what this simple job had morphed into, we were so happy that I was not too old to start looking better. We also met Alex, Dr Roy's very professional and calming surgical assistant, who gave me a couple of jars of goop with which to prepare my skin along with all sorts of pre-op advice. I said to myself: I feel even more confident knowing Alex will be there assisting at my surgery! Later, both she and Christine patiently answered my endless texts as questions occurred to me.
Surgery was less than 3 weeks after my original appointment. Recovery during the first week involved some discomforts but no real pain. I was even able to walk my dog outdoors and drive to the post office on day 3 after surgery. After that, the swelling and discomforts eased quickly. Post-op, Alex relieved me of my stitches and helped with any questions I had. Dr Roy checked me out to be sure everything was healing well, and it was. No doubt a good part of the reason I healed so well and so fast has to have been the warmth and kindness of Dr Roy and his entire team. When you feel relaxed and well cared for, it makes all the difference.
