Positive Experience
I had a very positive experience with Chris Dunkin and his team from consultation to 3 month review. He was straight talking and professional giving a real expectation of results during discussion. Considering it being a fairly major procedure of neck and lower face lift following the one night in hospital there was little need for pain relief beyond paracetamol codeine and cool packs. I was diligent with Vaseline and later bio oil to lubricate wounds to aid healing.
I was surprised by the speed of recovery. I was able to go out in first week despite swelling and bruising as fortunately my hair covered my wounds.
Initially for sleeping it was necessary to be positioned on my back and elevated with pillow as it was uncomfortable / painful to lay on side on ears and cheeks. They felt tender and a little numb for a while. This reduced over time and some weeks before my 3 month review sleeping had resumed to normal positions without issues. External stitches were removed after about 1 week at outpatients. I was able to ring if any issues
I attended when I had concern of internal stitch poking through skin. Advised this was normal as it could happen it was not painful. I was told this would dissolve internally and external piece fall off. Recovery has been speedy and the scarring is minimal and improving daily.
My operation was end of October and I was attending partings within 4 weeks for the build up to Christmas. I have had positive results and am pleased with the improvements of my surgery which although subtle have received compliments about my appearance. I do feel my neck and lower face look younger with less wrinkles an improved jaw line and reduced marionette lines around my mouth.
