Finally Decided to Go for It!!

Six weeks later, starting to feel more like my younger self. I still have some numbness on my checks and around my ears. I still have a little slack under my chin which I will discuss again with the doctor when I see her , probably in November. Maybe by then it will be tighter.

I just want to say everyone's experience seems to be slightly different. It depends on you and your healing abilities and the doctor you choose. After surgery, I had just some discomfort, no real pain. I had bruising around my eyes but not my neck. I had staples and stitches but nothing that really showed like some of the pictures I have seen. I was initially afraid to have this surgery. It took me 18 years to get the courage and I would do it again if I had to. It is 7 weeks post for me and I am about 85% satisfied with my results. I still have numbness around my upper cheeks and ears. I understand it takes time to get the final result. After a year, I will evaluate the results again because I guess you can still see improvements and feel differences to that point. I am happy I did it, and know I look so much better. I feel more like the me I used to look like. The timing was right and I knew if I procrastinated any longer I might lose my nerve. I am retired so I did not have the anxiety of a time constraint for healing. I felt like many others have done it before me and they went on to be happier and I am!

@jc49: I just wanted to show you what I am talking about. I took a few more pictures just now where it is more apparent. The doctor wants me to wear the wrap when I am home. I usually wear it 6-8 hours a day.

I had to make another post for the pictures. I am so happy I had this done. I did want to lose some weight before hand but had no motivation. Maybe, this will help. They say it is best to lose it first but I don't think it would cause too much sagging.

Thank you! Those pictures are so bad, I normally would delete them, but I found the pictures others posted to be so helpful, I decided to share. (As long as no one I know sees them, lol.) I am very happy I did it. I wanted to do it for quite a while. When I met someone by chance who had it done by this doctor, ( She looked really great after one month.) I felt it was a sign for me to get it done!
