Finally Decided to Go for It!!

18 yrs. ago I interviewed 3 doctors for a neck lift. One had suggested I have my eyes done as well. I knew I wanted to do this but let my fear make my decision. In April of this year, I met a woman who had the exact procedures I needed. It was 3 weeks post op and she looked great. When she showed me her before picture, I was sold. I asked the name of her doctor and called for an appointment. I met the doctor April 20th and June 20th had my surgery. Next week, Thursday, staples, and stitches will be removed. I can already see the huge improvement in my neck. My eyes are purple and swollen but I know that will get better. My doctor also removed fat from my stomach to fill in the marionette lines and nasal lines on my face. Today is day 3 and I am quite swollen. Tomorrow, I plan to shower and wash my hair. I have been eating all soft foods without a problem other than not being able to open my mouth very wide. I want to fast forward a month to see how I will look and feel. I guess I just need to be patient. I will post another picture after my next doctor visit which will be one week after surgery.

Probably in a few days, I will take some pictures. I still have not put any makeup on yet. I am glad I am retired though because 2 weeks off would have not been enough time for the swelling to go down.

You'll be looking so much better in 2 weeks...you wont have to wait a month! Any new pics???

Yes, a few but waiting till Monday to put on makeup and go out. By the the swelling should be even less than it is now. I am having issues posting pictures from my phone but will post the same as I did before.

What sort of neck lift did you have please? I have been for a consultation and told I would have to have a smas lift to get rid of my turkey neck. How did they do it? I just have scraggy skin in the front part of my neck when I lift my chin upwards. If I pull it up a little it’s fine. Surely there is a more simple method of just say excising the loose skin and maybe hiding it under the hairline from the side to the back.??

I don't think it was deep tissue. The excess skin was lifted and removed. There was lipo under the chin. My doctor did not put an incision under my chin like so many others have in their pictures. It is still a bit tender, numb and swollen under the chin, cheeks and ears.. It is a great improvement but I don't know if I am 100% satisfied. I am still seeing a wrinkle and some lines under my chin, but nothing like before. I see the doctor this week and I will address my concerns. The surgery itself was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I had general anesthetic and a prescription for pain, then I used tylenol.

Yes, I am happy! I should have done it sooner but fear held me back. I know now that I had nothing to be afraid of. The surgery did not cause me much pain, just some discomfort. Tomorrow, I plan to put some make-up on. I will take some pictures and post.

15 days post op, no makeup yet. Still a little swollen and numb on the sides of my face, but planning an outing for Monday and will add pictures then. I still have some scabbing which I hope is gone by then. I visit the doctor again on July 17.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I am. I had fat transferred to my cheeks and now 20 days later I am still numb but I have bumps on my cheeks that don't seem to be improving much. They are noticeable so I am not really eager to go out in public. My eyelids are still swollen but worse when I first wake up. They are also peeling skin under the bottom lid and I have small lumps in the corner where the lower lid stitches were. I see the doctor in seven days, I am hoping for some improvement by then. I am doing my best to be patient. The numbness is to be expected but the lumps are troubling. I am getting a bit anxious over it.

Thank you! It is a big improvement. I still feel like there is excess skin under my chin. I really expected a tighter, smoother appearance. Since it is only a month, when I expressed my concerns to the doctor, she said it can take up to a year for a final result. I will be leaving the area so I won't see her for at least 5 months. I guess I have to hope I see more improvement by then.

I put some makeup on and went to get a mani-pedi today. I use the same nail tech all the time. She looked at me and said you really look good today. You look younger! I said, really? She said yes, did you have something done. She really did not remark about my neck but believe me, the difference is huge. That was my main motivation.
