5+ Week Update - Still Euphoric!

It's now more than a month post-op and my results were already amazing yet still getting better each day. Here are the most notable changes since my first post:
- Bruising completely went away and smile 100% normalized by 2.5-3 weeks post-op
- Overall swelling has decreased significantly, jawline looking *chef's kiss*
- Swollen dense pocket under chin is still getting smaller daily
- Neck and under-chin operated areas looking smoother daily
- Internal neck tightness has reduced by 85-90% (this was really bad the first few weeks)
- Neck mobility has improved by 60-70%, but I'm not pushing it
- Incisions healing well, a bit of hyperpigmentation but no concerns
The aftercare from Dr. Ort has continued to be top-tier, making me feel valued and extremely cared-for as a patient. So far I've had 3 in-person post-op appointments, including (1) one day after, (2) one week after, (3) one month after. Dr. Ort generously extended our last appointment because I had let her office know beforehand that I had a lot of questions. As usual, she was attentive, informative, kind, and didn't rush. She runs a bustling practice yet somehow still makes you feel like you're her only patient. <3
I cannot express enough how life changing this has been. I literally went from a bottom-heavy face and pretty much no jawline definition to having a heart-shaped face and perfectly sculpted jawline. My neck also looks longer and slimmer now due to the fat removal and plastysma tightening, as well as tightening along the sides. No amount of weight loss or even lesser-skilled surgeon could have achieved this.
I've genuinely been in a state of euphoria since my initial swelling went down, as this was my one (!) lifelong physical insecurity, and now it's literally 100% the ideal face shape and jawline that I had described to Dr. Ort during our pre-op appointment. The slimming and tightening effects of FaceTite will continue for up to 6 months, so I expect to hang onto this feeling of euphoria for a long time yet.

Neck Lift and FaceTite at 34 - Detailed Review!
I'm less than 2 weeks out from a platysmaplasty and FaceTite to the lower face and neck. This is my first cosmetic procedure (I've never even gotten a facial or manicure lol) and I couldn't be happier with the experience thus far. I don't normally leave reviews for anything, but Dr. Ort and her staff are so amazing that they deserve as much praise as possible.
I'd been contemplating plastic surgery for years, as I have a full face and neck that are hereditary. Never had a defined jawline, even when young or at sub-120 lbs as a 172 cm adult. It honestly wasn't that bad, but wanted to change the trajectory of my aging while I'm still young. Without surgical intervention, I knew that my face and neck would eventually melt into a singular blob, which of course I want to avoid.
I had done years of research, including consulting with surgeons locally and in Korea, but something clicked when I saw Dr. Ort's portfolio. She's double board certified and has a keen sense of aesthetics, achieving natural yet dramatic results for her patients. It's clear that she's meticulous and precise in her work, and has experience with Asian features.
Dr. Ort spent a full hour with me in person, answering every single question I had. She's very direct and to-the-point, providing good technical information with zero fluff or up-selling. I don't think she said a single extraneous word the whole consult, which I really appreciated.
My pre-op appointment was another 45 minutes, during which Dr. Ort answered my remaining questions and gave post-op care instructions. The Zoom meeting cut off automatically but she called me back at the end of her work day to make sure all my questions were answered.
The day of the operation, I saw Dr. Ort before my procedure and spent some time with her surgical nurse and CRNA, who were both very friendly. I had no anxiety whatsoever and knew I was in good hands. Everyone was chatting and the next thing I knew, I was waking up from surgery. It took 4 hours, and I feel confident knowing that Dr. Ort took her time.
Dr. Ort also called me that evening around 9:30pm to check if I had any questions, and I accidentally woke her up an hour later with a question and felt so bad but she was still friendly and helpful. I went back the next day for drain removal. Really glad she used one, as I barely bruised because of it (just some green tint). Stitches came out at my 1-week post-op, she also removed some excess fluid from a swollen area under my chin, which immediately improved.
Healing has gone very smoothly so far. Everything I'm dealing with is to be expected after surgery:
- A lot of swelling, face looked like a cube the first week
- Some green tint in my neck and lower face, but no dark bruises at all
- A swollen pocket under my chin but it's going down a little each day
- Some unevenness in the neck that is getting smoother each day
- Tightness in the neck due to platysma being tightened
- Slightly uneven smile due to temporary nerve damage but it's improving daily and I'm sure will be back to 100% soon
No signs of fibrosis, lumps, or vertical banding, which seem to be common after neck procedures.
Overall, I'm very satisfied and can't think of a single complaint. My only anxiety right now is hoping that my results last and don't prematurely revert or look worse after the swelling goes down, as I love my new jawline and cervicomental angle.
I'm so glad I found Dr. Ort and will definitely be going to her for any other facial procedures I have in the future. I know she's super busy already and will only become more in-demand, so I hope she stays well rested and doesn't burn out, so she can have a long career and keep me looking good for the next 30 years!
