Dr. Back did my lower face/neck lift on July 16, 2020. It's been seven months now. I have hypertrophic scarring under my chin as well as along the front/back of my ears. Red, raised, visible, getting wider and not going away any time soon. I tried to address the issue with him at my last appointment. He did not take a look. He just said it takes a year to heal. Then he said sometimes it takes a year and a half. That is when I knew he could not be trusted. I left his office and cried, fearing that time would not heal these wounds..

Now, seven months in, the scarring under my chin has caused my skin to crease up the side of my face because it is pulling. I still go to great lengths every day to cover up the scars by my ears.. This was not the wonderful experience I was promised or expected.

I put most of the above into an email to Dr. Back and he called me on the phone. His main concern at first was that he and his staff thought I was such a nice person and now that I sent such a nasty email, no one knows what to think. I thought,
Really? Still not concerned about what your work did to my face? " The conversation got no better. He was dismissive, sarcastic, talking in circles, circumventing the issue at every turn. Blaming the victim. What a disgrace.

In addition, I have pixie ears and am developing the beginning of cobra neck.

I will be searching for the best doctor out there who can perform a revision and help get my life on track again. I wish every day that I could undo that day under the knife with him. I'm scared but am getting my courage up to take the proper steps to get this fixed.

Ear Scars and PIxie Ear

Persistent7172
This is an 8 month update on face lift with Dr. Back. See ear scars and pixie ear. I had a consult with a well-known ps in North Jersey this week. He said that avoiding pixie ear is the first thing a good ps learns about when in training. Dr. Back obviously did not get the memo.

One Year Update

Persistent7172
It is almost one year since my procedure. My ears are still red and scarred (front and back) with pixie ear. Not much better at all. My chin has a horrible scar. I did notice that this doctor did the same procedure on others this past year. Look at their "after" profile on his website. Horrible scarring at the ears! Please ladies, stay away!
