I am three months one week postop and feel I am 85% healed. Sensation is coming back every day. I still see some swelling now and again, and I know as the next three to six months pass I will get better and better results.
I am thrilled that I went through with this and with my results. I stopped wearing the compression garment three weeks ago. Now when I go to put it on it’s so uncomfortable I say to myself how the hell did I do this for so long? BUT I am a firm believer that it was using the compression garment as long and as often as I did that helped with my results.
If anybody is reading this and looking to get this done I highly recommend going to a board-certified surgeon and one that has many years specifically with facial surgeries. If you are in the New England area I highly recommend my surgeon he is absolutely amazing, his hands and skills are top notch and I will never go to anybody else going forward should I decide to have any other procedures done in the future. I will continue to update at the six-month mark and the one year mark. I do check this out every now and again so if you have any questions please feel free to send me a direct message or leave a comment.
Best wishes on your journey, God bless.

How in the heck did we get totwo months already? So excited to be able to give an update again and looking forward to the continuation of healing going forward.
I have been slacking when it comes to the compression garment, but after two months I truly feel like it probably isn’t making all that much of a difference. Last week I slept without my garment on, and woke up with no difference. So I continued with only wearing the garment 2 to 3 hours a day and not at night. After days of doing that I noticed that there was definitely some more fullness in my chin from swelling, if I put my garment back on for an hour the swelling disappears. So I’ve gotten into the habit of wearing it for the first few hours of the morning if needed.
Every day gets better and better, there are some days with more swelling, although that seems to happen later in the evening, and if I’ve been super active it will be more swollen.
I still have not gone back to the gym full-time, when I lift heavy weights I can still feel it in my neck so I’m giving myself time and space not to go hard at the gym until three months. That intuitively feels correct for me and my situation.
The only thing I know for sure is that I would’ve done this way sooner. I also have become friendly with a few people on this app and elsewhere that have gone through the same procedure, and although our stories varies some of the symptoms are common across-the-board one of the biggest realizations is that time truly will bring better results. I became friendly with a person who had this done a year ago and she is just now seeing results that don’t fluctuate on a day-to-day basis. That’s a year later folks, keep the faith and know that every body is different and our body knows how to heal.
I’ve attached pictures of two months and will continue to update as the weeks pass. For all of you who have followed my journey or have read it just to gain some insight and knowledge, I want to thank you for being part of this. If you’re considering getting it done do your research, check your doctors credentials, ask for references, and move forward confidently. If you’ve had this done or healing from this I wish you a speedy recovery happy results and renewed confidence. God bless.

Thank you so much that is very kind of you to comment. I’m glad it’s helping and I will continue to post until I am a year from surgery. I’m hoping to do monthly updates.
Hope you’re well

Thank you so much for updating everyone! I am 6 weeks post op, I'm running and exercising again, I'm still wearing my garment while I sleep, and I'm beginning to see results and feeling more hopeful. I keep reading that by 3 months the results will be incredible - I can't wait to read your 3 month update and reach mine so we can compare notes.
My chin and neck area is still very tender and I still feel one small lump on my right side and I continue to massage it.
Do you still feel any lumps?
Take care!

Hi there! So good to hear from you again. So happy to know you’re back in the swing of things and kicking butt in life after your surgery… Awesome… I am continuing to see better results as the days go by I have been wearing my compression garment between 10 to 20 hours a week, I don’t have many lumps and bumps only some from swelling but they’re not hard, and I can really only see them when I look up.
I hope you’re well... keep in touch

Thank you for you very much for sharing your journey , i read along with you and shared similar feelings and doubts . I too have the rippling and lumpyness under my chin Im two months today after surgery . I hold on t the belief that things will get better but often they dont and laser is used to break up this . Im hoping that i dont need that becouse it is quite expensive on top of everything else Ive paid 17k already for my surgery .
You and I had such a good result in the inital days ( for me up to two weeks ) then after swelling went down the shape started to loosen .
I have pushed my mark to measure the success of the surgery until september which will be 4 months . I feel so envious of others that I see on the face book site I joined who have had such great results after their surgerys .

I hope that you are healing well and I wanted to thank you for your comment. I know that time truly does heal and show the final results but man oh man is it a journey and a test of patience letting that time pass by. I am at almost 2 1/2 months and I am super happy with my results, I do have swelling a little bit of bumps under my chin but all is appearing to smooth out and get better as every day goes by. Happy healing to you please keep in touch XO

Thank you for your reply and positive vibes :) I have now a setback with an infection behind my left ear which my hairdresser noticed day before yesterday ( as you know its quite hard to see what is going on behind the actual ear crease . I went to my GP yesterday he said he thinks it may be a stitch and has put me on antibiotics antibiotic cream. I am quite freaked out as i thought that the stitches dissolved I and wouldnt course a problem after 2 months. Im also worried about the infection itself so nearly had anxiety attack at the drs ;

Six weeks postop update
Truthseeker888June 25, 2018
Six weeks! I am so happy to be at the six week mark. I just got back from speaking with my surgeon and he is thrilled with the results and gave me such peace of mind. He assured me that the residual lumps, bumps and swelling will for sure continue to get better with time. He also gave me the OK to start working out more strenuously and not wear my garment (I will still wear it at night until I feel comfortable.) I haven’t slept for six weeks without this on so I will be trying to sleep without the garment on in the next few days. I will update when I do that just to see how it goes.
The past week has brought tremendous improvements to the swelling, I am noticing more of a loose profile then I’ve had over the last few weeks but I am chalking that up to not wearing my garment during the day any longer. Four days ago I stopped wearing it during the day and only started wearing it at night. So I can tell the swelling is definitely more apparent... truth be told, even if my results were to never get any better than where they are right now I am beyond thrilled.
Things that have been occurring this late in recovery have been, swelling, harder lumps at the end of the day rather than in the beginning of the day, skin still trying to attach, some looseness and fullness on the side profile more so on my right side of my left side, random pain and zap like feelings as my nerves continue to heal, some tenderness when massaging, still rather numb to the touch under chin.
Now that I’ve hit the six week mark I have made some judgments on my results and they are as follows:
I am happy with my front view and happy with my Sideview, although I’m hoping both will continue to improve and I will get to my results that I had on day two as the swelling and healing continues, I am blown away at how much our body can heal and how miraculous it is, I’m really grateful for my health, my mind made more fearful scenarios then actually happened during the process, i’m so grateful for this app and the people that are using it and have reached out during this journey it brought so much comfort and a sense of connection, I’m 1000% happy that I made the decision to do this, I have learned that every body is different and although we like to compare and have something to judge on it truly is such a individualized process and every body is different, it takes time to see the results which can be very frustrating and disheartening at times.
I will still update this account going forward, but plan on giving a super detailed update at the 3 month mark (which is in another six weeks). In the meantime I will update with pictures and anything that has changed, helped and/or any new symptoms that may occur.
I want to thank everybody who has read this post and wish you well on your journey no matter where you are in the world or in the process. God bless.

The skin on your neck has retracted so much in 6 weeks! I’m sure it’s hard when seeing yourself every day to see the subtle changes and not freak out (as I have at times already), but you can see such a difference in your before and afters. Even from day one post op to now there have been so many positive changes. Amazing transformation =]

Hello All-
I am hoping and praying I didn't make the worse choice of my life. From the day after my procedure July 2, I have felt devastated with the post opt results, I was given all the medical risk but not the cosmetic risk or knowledge of the look of the healing process. I am 54 and had chin liposuction with thermitight. I'm 11 days post opt the bruising wasn't bad but the lumps, bumps, and loose skin is awful looking. Most information out there on chin lipo and thermi results are so good, but my biggest fear is my PS misjudged my elasticity and I'm doomed because of it, my side profile is a slight improvement but a straight in look in the mirror and my chin is not at all retracting back and that's what I wanted to see the most. At my one week post opt he said I would see most results at the 6 week mark, but I just dont see it coming. I would love to talk and exchange photos on email and get mental support if anyone needs that as well. I'm just wishing I had never done the procedure, at the risk of sounding too negative.

I had my first Lipo/lazier chin procedure last June 2017,unfortunately I followed instructions with my bandage on when it was time to take off and shower I had a huge lip of skin or flap I took pic sent it to ps he told me to keep compression on and massage it after 5 days of sending him pics I had to go back in and have it drained they never saw anything like this!they said it looked like I slept wrong and the bandage slipped,so I had to go back four more times for some type of lazor treatments then we waited to see how much more improvement I would make.I have to say I got a lot better when the one year mark hit but wasn’t perfect so needless to say I had the procedure done two days ago.So far everything seems to be doing good,I take off compression three times a day to make sure the sight looks good, since what happened the first time will try to send pics,I’m very pleased so far and happy with my ps things happen just my luck but he felt like it should look better then it did and wanted to redo at no charge and plans on having great results this time
July 15, 2018
I had that pinched lip looking crease as well the day after the procedure, my ps was able to work it out by pressing along the crease. I basically did this procedure to ward off Turkey neck, I really didn't have a lot going on nothing that even showed up in photos and now I'm embarrassed with lumps and rippling, I wish I had been told your neck will look 19 years older than it does now for several months possibly forever, I certainly would not have chosen to do it.
I happy your redo is a great result.

Hello Del0113.... I wanted to reach out and let you know that I am wishing you a speedy recovery with results that surpass your expectations. I know how uncertain and scary this healing process can be. I had hanging skin as well, but every day got a little better. Although at the two-three week mark things started to get a little shaky and lumps and bumps appeared and stayed until the seven week mark. I can still feel some of the lumps and bumps although they are much smaller. My skin seems to change every day, some days it’s nice and tight and some days it’s a little laxed, but I am keeping the faith that by six months I will see full results.
How are you feeling now? Have you seen any improvements? The only advice I can say is to truly allow time to take root and for your body to heal. Focus on what you want your results to look like and see if that will help you bring those results forward. I am a true believer that a positive mind frame can yield positive results. I know it’s easier said than done, but try to balance all of that fear with what can go right rather than what seems to be going wrong. As for exchanging pictures and stories I would be more than happy to private message with you. You can send me a direct message on this app and we can share personal email addresses should you want to move forward with that.
So much love and healing sent your way.

Hi Mamajawz... wow what a journey you’ve been on… I salute you! Wow. I am hoping that your revision yields be in tastic results and I am looking forward to following your journey going forward. How are you feeling now? Have you seen much improvement since the revision?

Stunning results! Thank you so much for detailing your 6-week post op experience. I’m 5-weeks now. Still sleeping with the chin strap. Massage and Arnica gel help with the swelling and tenderness. The incision is fading nicely (I apply Neosporin and Mederma during the day).
I agree with you that even if I stay the way I look presently, the procedure would’ve still been totally worth it. Although, I would have done it much sooner, ideally in my 30s.
July 16, 2018
I agree I wish I did it sooner too! So happy to know that your results have been worth it and you are pleased. It’s been really great to have you on this journey at the same time as myself, and I am looking forward to hearing more of your updates and comments. Happy healing!

Hi how did you wear compression garment during the day. I work all day does this mean I couldn't have this done as I certainly wouldn't want anyone to know. Thanks for all your post it has been really useful. Xx
July 16, 2018
Hi Gorgia21. Nice to hear from you. I wore my compression garment during the day for 24 hours seven days a week for two weeks. At that point I would wear on and off during the day and still all night. It wasn’t until the two month mark that I stopped wearing my compression garment at night and switch to wearing it 2 to 3 hours a day. I have gone a day here in there without putting it on but seemed to make sure that I wear at between 5 to 10 hours a week. I also wear one to two nights a week. I am over two months postop.
You can absolutely still work and have this done. I’ve met people who have had it done and went to work with the compression garment on and I have met people who took a week off of work to wear the compression garment 24 hours a day and when they resumed work only wore the garment at night. My plastic surgeon told me to stop wearing completely after 6 days and I’m happy I didn’t listen because I am a firm believer that what I had done and my results are because I wore that garment so consistently. But that is my own opinion and I’m not a doctor but just my experience. Keep in touch XO

Thank you for the reply the info is very much appreciated. Sick of this chin of mine I think it is from using the iPad so much.
It destroys my profile and makes me feel old. Hope I get the courage to have it done. Listening to your story has helped would like to keep in touch if possible. many thanks

I would love to keep in touch… Please send me a direct message with your email or we can converse over direct message on this app… Whatever feels right to you.
I hope you get the courage to do it too, it literally changed my life. I find myself doing things to cover my chin, like creative hand placement when eating dinner or you know doing things with my clothing to minimize my chin, and I have to remind myself that I don’t need to do that anymore… It’s been so long that I’ve been doing these behaviors that not needing to do them is quite an eye-opening experience.
Have you had any consultations with doctors? Where are you on your journey?
July 24, 2018
Would be great to keep in touch thank you. I am just looking at the moment and trying to gain courage xx
