Unsure About Juvederm for Cheeks to Correct Smile Lines. NC

ORIGINAL POST

I have been researching juvederm for a while....

Ika
$450
I have been researching juvederm for a while. Still not sure and scared about possible side effects. I would love to correct my deep smile lines. I was advised to have my cheeks filled by juvederm ultra plus 1 syringe rather then the smiles lines. Supposedly filling up the cheeks would help the smile lines more. Has anyone done it and are the cheeks better choice? I'm still unsure if I want to touch my cheeks. Please share your experience.

I would go with Juvederm in the cheeks, it will get ride of the lines and give u a healthy look with broad cheeks. I plan to get my cheeks done and i have smile lines, very mild i know they will rid them. 2 in 1 shot ;-)

The first dermatalogists office I went to, she suggested injecting my cheeks. I was unsure about that as her staff and the actual dermatologists, looked like clowns. Lips so big and puffy with juverderm and cheeks so big! I never went back there. I just got my smile lines injected 4 days ago and I'm still a little bruised and swollen so I'm still unsure about results. They do look better but not sure if I would go through with it again. Very expensive, $1100, and they aren't completely gone.

Thank you for your input. I will have to ask a lot of questions before I have them to do anything.

had my lips done for over a grand. Unhappy with upper lip. Told the nurse practitioner, who was 'certified' in this procedure, that I was not happy. Had to go back after a month to have an injection to break up the lumps by my chin that were still visible. AGAIN, told her I was unhappy. Now, less than 3 months later, I cannot tell a difference. I called to ask her to repeat my upper lip, and was shocked that she asked me to pay her again. I feel that she should have done this for free, or at least just charge me what she paid for one syringe plus 50 bucks extra. I am unsure whether or not I will return, though I have an appointment in 10 days. I need to research further.

I have Juvederm in the cheeks for smile lines and also in the folds themselves for years. About once a year. I couldn't be happier with the results. Best money I have ever spent. But it all depends on the injector. I personally would choose a plastic surgeon and not a nurse, because I think if someone already cut a face open during a facelift he knows better where the blood vessels and the nerves are. I think the cheeks are a good choice, it will not only soften the smile lines but give a much better shape to the face. Best luck.

Thank you, I appreciate your input. Have you been swollen after the procedure for a long time? I just want to be prepared and plan accordingly. Have they inject it with needle or cannula? I have read than cannula is much safer.

I have done the procedure with a cannula and I would only do it so. It feels a bit strange when the cannula goes through the skin but it is much safer because the cannula pushes away the blood vessels and so I had no bruising at all and very little swelling. I had no downtime at all. But I must say that after the first time I have done the procedure I had a headake for a couple of days and at first it felt hard under the skin. But after a few days this always goes away and I am not worried about that anymore. For me the juvederm lasts about one year because I have done that a couple of times and for me it is so worth it. I just dont buy so many clothes and safe my money for the procedure and even though my doctor is more expensive than others I will continue to go there because she has a very good eye and knows exactly where to place the filler. I think filler injection is not a thing to go for a deal but to look for the best. Unfortunately she is in Germany so I cannot recommend you to her. I hope you find someone as good as her then I am convinced it can really change a life for the better. Good luck.

How much Juvederm do you get in your cheeks Danismith ?? Where do you go to get it done? I have the same smile lines you are talking about...do they start under your eyes and go down your cheeks?

The first time I did it I think I got 2 stringes but now once a year I get one stringe for both cheeks and 1/2 stringe in the nasolabial folds themselves. I think you should start with one stringe for both cheeks and see if you like it and then maybe go for more. But with one stringe you can't go wrong it just can't look overfilled. The first time I was so afraid it could look awful and sweat like hell during the procudure, but right afterwards I looked in the mirror and almost started to cry because it looked soo good. She also said that injecting in the cheeks with a cannula is a very safe area, a bit trickier are the nasolabial folds because of the blood vessels there, so of cause you should choose carefully the injector but I really would not be too scared of the procedure. I thought afterwards that if I had known before that the procedure would be so simple I would have done it before. I did the procedure in Germany, Dusseldorf.

After 1 syringe of juvederm in nasal labial folds.

Ika
I had 1 strange of juvederm injected into my nasal labial folds.
It didn't hurt at all, it had lidocaine in it and I couldn't feel a thing. I was a bit red after but only for an hour or so. I didn't experience any swelling. I think it did correct my smile lines but it is a very subtle change so only I can notice it. I might go for another syringe later but I'm happy for right now.

Looks very good. I don't think the effect is very subtle (in a good way). It has improved the smile lines very much and looks natural.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm satisfied with the result and happy that I have finally found the courage to try it.

I think your results are actually very noticeable (in a natural, subtle way) and seem to take years off your face. Awesome results!!!
